A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF STEPHENVILLE,TEXAS FORMALIZING THE CITY'S
DESIRE TO BECOME A TEXAS HISTORICAL COMMISSION MAIN STREET CITY.
WHEREAS, the Texas Historical Commission of Texas has created the "Texas Main Street City"
program to assist communities in developing a public-private effort to revitalize their"Main Street"areas;
and
WHEREAS,the City of Stephenville is committed to revitalizing the downtown area and wishes to
participate in the Texas Main Street Program.
NOW,THEREFORE,BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF STEPHENVILLE,TEXAS:
1. That the City Council endorses the goal of economic revitalization of the Stephenville downtown
area.
2. That the City Council authorizes the City Manager to proceed with the necessary steps in order to
prepare for application for the Texas Main Street Program in 2020.
