A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY OF STEPHENVILLE,TEXAS ACCEPTING THE 2018 SIDEWALK IMPROVEMENT
PLAN
WHEREAS, the City of Stephenville is committed to providing a continuous sidewalk system
throughout the community; and
WHEREAS, the city has identified pedestrian corridors for creating preferred routing for schools,
children, disabled residents, and the elderly used for commuting and neighborhood trips; and
WHEREAS, the city is committed to upgrading existing sidewalks to provide safe and efficient
pedestrian movement and meet ADA standards; and
WHEREAS, the Planning and Zoning Commission has reviewed proposed plan and has
unanimously recommended its approval.
NOW,THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the City Council of the City of Stephenville as follows:
Section 1.
The city is designating the areas indicated on the attached maps for the Sidewalk Improvement
Program.
Section 2.
The Sidewalk Improvement Program will include procedures on prioritizing sidewalks, a Neighborhood
Sidewalk Improvement program, Hazardous Sidewalk Criteria, and a Sidewalk Cost Sharing Program.
Section 3.
This resolution shall become effective immediately after passage.
PASSED AND APPROVED by the City Council of the City of Stephenville this the 5th day of
February, 2019.
