City of Stephenville - City Council
Tuesday, November 19, 2013, 5:30 P.M.
The City Council of the City of Stephenville, Texas, convened on November 19, 2013, at 5:30 p.m., in
the Council Chambers at City Hall, 298 West Washington Street, for the purpose of a Special Council
Meeting, with the meeting being open to the public and notice of said meeting, giving the date, time, place
and subject thereof, having been posted as prescribed by Chapter 551, Government Code, Vernon's Texas
Codes Annotated, with the following members present, to wit:

Call to Order. The meeting of the Stephenville City Council was called to order at 5:30 p.m.
on Tuesday, November 19, 2013, by Mayor Weldon.
II. Consider and take action on Ordinance No. 2013-20 authorizing the issuance and sale of
the City's Combination Tax and Revenue Certificates of Obligation, Series 2013 in the
amount of $1,000,000, and approving all other matters pertaining thereto
George Williford with First Southwest, the city's financial adviser, presented the tabulation
of bids and a summary offinancing for this $1 million issuance. He noted that the successful
bidder is Texas Independent Bank (TIB) at an interest rate of 2.49% and a ten-year
repayment, which provides for prepayment at any time after issuance.
MOTION by Doug Svien, second by Casey Hogan, to adopt Ordinance No. 2013-20
authorizing the issuance and sale of the City's Combination Tax and Revenue Certificates of
Obligation, Series 2013 in the amount of $1,000,000, and approving all other matters
pertaining thereto. MOTION CARRIED by unanimous vote.

III. Consider accepting a grant for a Type 6 Fire Engine under the Texas Intrastate Fire Mutual
Aid System (TIFMAS)
Fire Chief Jimmy Chew explained that this truck is comparable to a 1-ton dually truck with a
capacity for 350 gallons of foam. The truck is deployable anywhere in the State of Texas.
Stephenville is a member of a task force that when called on will use this truck to deploy to
a specific area. This truck is the 32"a truck of its type to be awarded in the state. The truck
may also be used locally, but not as a first response unit.
MOTION by Russ McDanel, second by Brady Pendleton, to accept the grant for a Type 6
Engine under the Texas Intrastate Fire Mutual Aid System Grant. MOTION CARRIED by
unanimous vote.
IV. Adjourn
MOTION by Russ McDanel, second by Casey Hogan, to adjourn the meeting. MOTION
CARRIED at 6:22 p.m.
