June 30, 1960.
City City Council met in called session on this date with Mayor Pro -Tem Riggins
presiding and the following aldermen present: Virgil Dickerson, I. D. Reynolds, Burl
Lawrence, Albert Graves, Raymond Anderson and J. P. Hedrick.
Mr. Allan Tucker, of Rauscher- Pierce Company, appeared before the Council to
present an ordinance approving Estimate # 1 of Elm Fork Construction Company; Estimate
# 2 of Texas Water Wells Inc.; and Estimate # 3 of C. E. Gunter, on construction of
Water Works Improvements.
It was moved by Alderman Dickerson, seconded by Alderman Anderson, that this or-
dinance be passed. Motion carried unanimously (said ordinance being attached to and
becoming a part of these minutes).
Alderman Hedrick reported a party has for sale a two cell block jail for $350.00,
and recommended that if the City is planning`to build a jail the Law & Order Committee
should go look at this soon. After discussion, it was suggested that the Law & Order
Committee visit other towns of similar size, make a complete study of this, and report
their recommednations to the Council.
There being no other business at this time,

Alderman introduced a resolution and made a matica
that it be adopted. The motion was seconded by Alderman Araoa . The
motion carrying with it the adoption of the resolution prevailed by the
following vote:

WHERMS,on February 11, 1960, the City Council of the City
of Stephenville, Texas, passed an ordinance, among other things, authorizing
the issuance of $175,O00.00 of City of Stephenville Waterworks Improvement,:
Warrants, Series 1960, for the purpose of paying contracts "A ", "B ", "C ", "D"
and "E ", 'therein authorized; and
WHEREAS, Contract "A" has been partially performed and the

contracts have been satisfactorily performed and materials furnished in
accordance with said contracts, plans and specifications to the extent shown
In said estimates and that the City of Stephenville has received full value
to the amounts there shown.
2. That, for the purpose of evidencing the City's indebtednei
to said Contractors, the City Secretary is hereby directed to deliver to
Elm Fork Construction Company, Inc., Warrants Numbers Thirty Four (34) to
Seventy Two (72), both inclusive, aggregating Thirty Nine Thousand Dollars
($39,000.00); the City Secretary is herelyr directed to deliver to C. E. Guntei
Warrants Plumbers Seventy Three (73) to Seventy Six (76), both inclusive,
aggregating your Thousand Dollars (%4,000.00); and the City Secretary is
directed to deliver to Teaas Water Wells$ Inc.,Warrants Plumbers Seventy
Seven (77) to Ninety Two (92), both inclusive, aggregating Sixteen Thousand
Dollars ($316,000.00).
