presiding and the following aldermen present: Virgil Dickerson, Marvin Ratliff,
Chas. Riggins, Walter Brandon, Albert Graves, Dean Murray, Scott D. Reed and
J. P. Hedrick.
Others present were Water Supt. Gann, St. Supt. Collins, Chief Cornell and
City Atty. Chandler.
Minutes of previous meetings were read and approved.
Mr. John Bunnell appeared before the Council asking that his property be
connected to the sewer line without his paying a sewer tapping fee. The Council
agreed,that in line with the present policy of the City, Mr. Bunnell will have to
pay the $15.00 sewer tapping fee.
Mr. Hal Thomas came before the Council asking that the road adjoining the
City Airport be fixed. The recent rains had washed dirt off the airport and had
caused damage to this road. Mr. Thomas also asked that something be done about,
the drainage problem in this area. This was referred to the Airport and Street
Committees for their handling.
Alderman Reed reported the Water Committee had made a study of the possibility
of filing for water rights on the Bosque and it was the recommendation of this com-
mittee that no action be taken until this matter was checked into further. After
.discussion, the Council agreed with the recommendations of the Water Committee.

Alderman Dickerson reported Mr. Art Anderson, Manager of the Gulf States
Telephone Company, was,interested in buying a part of Lot 6, Block 12, Shappard &
Collins Addition. After discussion, it was agreed not to set/ this property.

Opened at this time were the following bids for one 1960 Model 2 -Ton Truck:
Higginbotham Motor C' o ---------------------------- $2698.04
Jones Chevrolet Co .------------------------ - - - - -- 2995.00
Herrin Motor Co.--------------------------- - - - - -- 2733.00
It was moved by Alderman Dickerson, seconded by Alderman Reed, to accept the bid
of Herrin Motor Co. for one Ford 2 -Ton truck. Motion carried.
Opened then were the following bids for two,1960 Model cars for the Police
Department:,
Jones Chevrolet Co --------------------- -- -------- $2300.00
Herrin Motor Co --------------------- ------------- 2392.00
It was moved by Alderman Hedrick, seconded by Alderman Graves, to accept the bid
of Herrin Motor Co. for two Ford cars. Motion carried.
Alderman Murray reported he had some figures on the approximate cost of a
new hangar at the airport and if the Council wants to build a new hangar womething
should be done soon. It was agreed for the Airport Committee to check further into
this and report back to the Council.
Alderman Hedrick reported the need of installing a traffic light at the corner
of Tarleton and Graham streets, however, it would be necessary to check with the
Highway Engineer before this installation was made.
Alderman Riggins reported the Park Committee had the following recommendations
for future use of the City Recreation Hall:
That the present policy be used except when a person, or group, has a program
i and charges admission. They are to pay a flat $25.00 minimum rental fee, also
25% of the total proceeds should this total be more than the minimum rental fee.
It was moved by Alderman Ratliff, seconded by Alderman Dickerson, to accept these
recommendations of the Park Committee,. Motion carried.
Opened at this time was the bid of Burroughs Corporation for a Billing,Mach-
ing for the Water Department. Total bid of $4066.00. It was moved by Alderman
Riggins, seconded by Alderman Dickerson, to accept the bid of Burroughs Corporation
for a billing machine. Motion carried.
It was moved by Alderman Riggins, seconded by Alderman Brandon, to accept the

DEDICATION
THE STATE OF TEXAS:
COUNTY OF ERATH: KNOW ALL MEN BY THESE PRESENTS:
That I. Edd Brooks, being the sole owner of Lots 1- 2 -3 -4, in Block 26, South
Side Addition in the City of Stephenville, a part of the John Blair Survey, Abstract
No. 32, in Erath County, Texas, according to the plat of said addition of record in
Vol. 43, page 375, in the Deed Records of Erath County, Texas, do hereby adopt the
attached plat dirawn by Thomas B. King, Registered Public Surveyor No. 425, of Texas..
as my plan for subdividing said lots 1 -2 -3 -4 in said Block 26. That portion of said
Lots 1 -2 -3 74 which is shown on the attached plat as West Turley Street is hereby
dedicated to the City of Stephenville, Texas, for street purposes, and for laying=
utility lines by said City of Stephenville, and use for utilities by any individual
company serving said City with utilities.

Motion for the above dedication was carried.
Alderman Dickerson reported that Mr. E. M. Moss had offered to give the back
portion of his lots which adjoin the City Water Works property, in return for free
water. It was moved by Alderman Dickerson, seconded by Alderman Reed, to accept
this land from Mr. Moss. Motion carried.
Presented was a petition from Mrs. Viola Anderson asking that her property on
North Graham Street be annexed to the City. It was moved by Alderman Dickerson,
seconded by Alderman Graves, to adopt an ordinance annexing the property of Mrs.
Viola Anderson to the City of 'Stephenville. (Said petition and ordinance being
attached to and becoming a part of these minutes).
It was moved by Alderman Reed, seconded by Alderman Dickerson, to place
$3000.00 per month out of the Water Works Operating Fund into a special savings
account fund to pay for future improvements to the water system. Motion carried.
It was moved by Alderman Brandon, seconded by Alderman Ratliff, that bills
and accounts be allowed and ordered paid. Motion carried.

TO THE CITY COUNCIL OF STEPHEN'VILLE, TEXAS:
The undersigned, Mrs. Viola Anderson, owner of the following
described land:
1 -3/4 acres of land, more or less, a part of the J. S. Little
100 acre subdivision of the M. R. Williams Survey in Erath
County, Texas, adjoining the City of Stephenville, on the North,
and described as follows:
BEGINNING 54 vrs. N. 60 E. and 25 feet N. 30 eti. and 15 feet
N. 47 1,'. from the S.aV.C. of the Mv R. Williams Survey, in the
East.line of North Graham Street at the N.W.C. of a tract sold
to Jack Allen;

inabove described.
This ordinance is passed for the purpose of granting the petition
of the owner of the hereinabove described land, which land is occupied only
by this owner and has only one resident, duly made in writing to this City
Council, and said territory is hereby received and annexed and the future
inhabitants of such land shall be citizens of Stephenville and shall be bound
by the acts and ordinances of said City as likewise shall the present in-
habitant be.
The fact that the above described land is situated adjacent to an
inhabited portion of the City of Stephenville and the owner thereof desires
to have it made a part of the City of Stephenville and it is to the best
interest of the City of Stephenville that same be annexed and an emergency
exists that this ordinance be enacted and put into effect immediately.
Therefore, any rule that might require, such ordinance to be read at more
than one meeting of the City Council is suspended and this ordinance hereby
