March 27, 1959-
The City Council met in called session on the above date with Mayor Evans;
presiding and the following aldermen present: Virgil Dickerson, Marvin Ratliff,
Chas. Riggins, Walter Brandon, Albert Graves, Van E. Allen, Scott D. Reed and
Earl Weathers.
Mayor Evans reported the purpose of this meeting was to open bids for the
proposed construction at the airport.
The following bids were received:
C. H. Burns & Sons, Baire Bid $105,040.00 Addendem # 2
no change.
Holland Paige If it 110,644.00 Deduct $14,194.00
Douglas A. Lott '" It 91,705.00 m $ 2,265.00
C. C. Booth 94,062.50 No change.
At this time the itemized bids of each of the above were read.
After discussion, it was moved by Alderman Reed, seconded by Alderman Dickerson,
t6 recommend to the F. A. A. the low bid of Douglas A. Lott of $89,4L0.00 for con -
struction at the airport. Motion carried.
It was moved by Alderman Dickerson, seconded by Alderman Ratliff, that the
following resolution be adopted:
RESOLVED, that the Mayor, J. Louis Evans, execute to J. R. Barb a Quit-Claim
Deed conveying to him the westerly 225 feet of Lot 13 in Block 51, of the City of
Stephenville, and being a part of the land conveyed to the City of Stephenville by
the Sheriff of Erath County, Texas, by deed dated July 1, 19582 by virtue of del-
inquent tax suit # 9819, and proceedings thereunder, in return for conveyance from
the said 8. R. Barb, of Lot 4, of Block 51, of the City of Stephenville, which deed
shall be in the form of a Quit -Claim and recite that all interest of the City of
Stephenville acquired under said Tax Deed is conveyed and which deed shall be attested
by the City Secretary of Stephenville, Texas. Motion for the above was carried.
Mr. R. Y. Gann reported to the Council that in order to out a new 'channel for
the Bosque River, and fill the old channel, it would be necessary to have an en-
gineer draw up plans and specifications of this project and present dame to the
State Water Control Board for their approval. The Council asked the Reaves & Greg-
ory Engineering Co. to appear before them and make an estimate of the cost of the
engineering service.
There being no other business at this time, the Council stood adjourned subject
to the Mayor's call. A /°
