February 3, 1959-
-The City Council met in a called session on the above date with Mayor Evans
presiding and the following aldermen present: Virgil Dickerson, Marvin Ratliff,
Chas. Riggins, Walter Brandon, Albert Graves, Van E. Allen, Scott D. Reed and Earl
Weathers.
Mayor Evans reported the purpose of this meeting was to open and read bids
for construction ab the airport.
The following bids were received:
1. Hoffman & Borders Total B &z $113,440.00
2. Brown & Blakeney Inc. 98,145.75
3. Cage Bros. " " 118,212.00
4• Holland Paige " " 125,957.00
5. Ottinger Construction Co. ° ° 107,800.00
6. C. C. Booth Construction Co. ° ° 94,215.50
At this time the unit prices of C. C. Booth Construction Co. were read and
it was found this company had failed to receive the Addendum for 10.1,000 gallons
of Bituminous Prime Coat in place. Mr. Booth stated this Addendum was not re-
ceived, due to the fact his sub - contractor had died, and therefore did not present
this Addendum to him. Mr. Booth then stated his bid for this material would be
the same as his bid for Bituminous material, or .19f per gallon, thereby adding
$1900.00 to the total bid price, and the total bid would be $96,115.50.
The unit prices of the bid of Brown & Blakeney were read, and the question
was asked of the Brown & Blakeney Co. if they had any objections due to the cir-
cumstances of C. C. Booth Co.-adding the price of 101000 gallons Bituminous Prime
Coat to his total bid. The Brown & Blakeney Co. offered no objections at this
time.
It was moved by Alderman Allen, seconded by Alderman Graves, that the City
accept the Addendum from Mr. C. C. Booth, and the Council accept the low bid of
$96,115.50 of the C. C. Booth Construction Co., subject to the approval of the
C. A. A. Motion carried.
There being no other business at this time, the Council stood adjourned sub-
ject to the Mayorts call.
