Also that it is a mistake to install a sewer lift station at intersection of Harbin Dr. and North Loop. The Commission reminds the council that the traffic problem on Washington and Graham continues to grow, and that plans should be made for one way traffic on these streets. It was also recommended that the council commence to buy right of way for a thorough- fare from Mary street and connecting with 011ie street as set out in long range plan. Mr. Maguire discussed the advantages and disadvantages of City Manager form of govern- ment. The Planning Commission unanimously voted to recommend that the City Cod ncii RZIO call an election to give the citizens an opportunity to vote for or against City Manager form of government. Councilman Irwin requested that the following be spread upon city minutes: That the City Council express sincere thanks to the Planning Commission for their work and recommendations to the council. It was moved by Councilman Higgins, seconded by Councilman Stone to adopt first reading of an ordinance making a part of the City of Stephenville land adjacent to said City,.which land joins the present city limits of the City of Stephenville and which ordinance describes said land. Motion carried unanimously. The following bids were received for drilling of one water well: Texas Water Wells Inc ---------------- $32,875.00 Layne Texas Company----- - - - - -- - - - - -- 389448.00 It was moved by Councilman Metsgar, seconded by Councilman Irwin to accept the bid of Texas Water Wells Inc., and that Mayor be authorized to sign a contract for drilling of one well. Motion carried. The council briefly discussed the recommendation of Planning Commission concerning City Manager form of government. Councilman Irwin asked that the council consider hireing of a City Administrator.
