HomeMy WebLinkAbout1972-05-12 - Special City CouncilMay 12, 1972 Stephenville, Texas The City Council met on the above date in a called meeting with the following members present: Charles Riggins, W. M. Irwin, Garland Loudermilk, Larry Hammett, Raymond Anderson, Toby Stone and Doug Smithey, and Mayor Donald R. Jones presiding. The meeting was to accept bids for three 1972 police cars. The following bids were submitted: Dwain Bruner Chevrolet Co.--- - - - - -- $8,257.00 Herrin Motor Co.------------- - - - - -- 8,044.00 Quotations based on net differences of trade -in of two police cars. Delivery date was stated by Bruner Chevrolet Co. as 5 weeks subject to availability of materials and Herrin Motor Co. was 20 to 30 days for delivery. Councilman Smithey made a motion, seconded by Councilman Stone to accept the Herrin Motor Co. bid of $8,044.00 with trade -in. Motion carried. The amount of $5,000. was set up in present budget for the police cars and insurance expected to pay on one totalled patrol car. The Council discussed future needs of sanitary land -fill operation for the city. The sanitation committee would make a study on the matter. Council discussed need for a log book or maintenance record for each police car to make comparison on different makes of cars.
