City of Stephenville - City Council
WEDNESDAY, JULY 8, 1987 - 6:00 P.M.
The City Council of the City of Stephenville, Texas, convened in special session
on July 08, 1987, at 6:00 p.m. in the Council Chambers of City Hall, 354 N.
Belknap, with the meeting being open to the public and notice of said meeting,
giving the date, time, place and subject thereof, having been posted as prescribed
by Article 6252 -17, Section 3A, V.A.C.S., with the following members present,
to wit:
Larry Hammett
Bob Self §
Wm. G. Brede §
Maxine Dameron §
Jim McSwain §
Ray Reynolds §
Larry Tatum §
and
Kurt Ackermann
Joyce Pemberton
Charlene Young
Danny Johnson

Mayor Hammett called the meeting to order and declared a quorum present.
Mayor Hammett advised the purpose of this special meeting was to discuss the
water rate schedule; to see if some adjustments to the rate schedule would be
feasible; to discuss the possibility of hiring a rate consultant to try to
arrive at a fair and equitable rate for all the citizens of Stephenville.
City Administrator Kurt Ackermann advised that the rate proposal from Freese &
Nichols, Inc. was a maximum of $25,000 which would include a canputer program
to be used in the future for computing the water rates. Sane of the other pro-
posals were in the area of $12,000.

Councilmember Ray Reynolds made a motion to authorize the City Administrator to
proceed with negotiations and bring back to the City Council a proposal that
will meet the needs we have from a reputable firm at a survey cost not to exceed
$12,500.00 or less. Seconded by Councilmember Maxine Dameron, the motion
carried by the following vote
AYES: Mayor Larry Fbnmett and Councilmembers Self, Dameron, McSwain,
Reynolds, and Tatum.
NOES: Councilmember Brede
There being no other business, the meeting was adjourned at 7:40 p.m.
