CITY OF STEPHENVILLE, HELD CN
TUESDAY, JANUARY 27, 1987 - 3:00 P.M.
ITEM I• CALL TO ORDER.
A special meeting of the City Council of the City of Stephenville,
Texas, was called to order by the Mayor with the following members present:
Mayor: David Clayton
Members: Bob Self
Larry Hammett
Wn. G. Brede
James L. McSwain
Ray Reynolds
and with the following members absent: Allen Horne, G. A. Swindle, Larry
Tatum.
Others attending were: City Administrator Kurt Ackermann, City Secretary
Joyce Pemberton, City Attorney Joseph Chandler, Director of Finance
Charlene Young, Fire Chief Jimmy Mooney and members of the news media.
ITEM II: CO MIITTEE REPORT REGARDING PROPOSALS FOR THE CITY'S GENERAL LIABILITY
COVERAGE.
Councilman Bill Brede, chairman of the Damage Claims Committee, reported
that the Committee had reviewed the two bids received from Arthur J.
Gallagher Company and the Texas Municipal League. They also reviewed the
"Sumnary and Conclusions" submitted by The Wyatt Company, the City's Risk
Management Consultants, and make the following recommendation:
To accept the Texas Municipal League bid as follows:
Premium-- ------------------- - - - - -- $114,968 ($111,950 amt.budgeted)
*Higher Optional Deductibles(less) -$ 4,236
$110,732
* $5,000 - Public Official Liability
$1,000 - All Other Coverage
Deductibles apply separately to each of the following four coverages:
1. General & Automobile
2. Law Enforcement
3. Public Official Errors &. Qnissions.
4. Property Coverages
Councilman Bill Brede moved acceptance of the bid of $110,732 from Texas
Municipal League for the City's general liability coverage as outlined
above and in their bid._ Councilman Larry Hammett seconded the motion.
The motion carried by the following vote:
AYES: All members present voted aye.
NOES: None
Mayor David Clayton announced his resignation as Mayor of the City of
Stephenville, effective immediately, due to his move to a hone outside the
city limits. Mayor Pro Ten•Larry Hammett to take over the duties until a
Mayor can be elected in the April election.
There being no other business to cone before the Council at this time, the
meeting adjourned at 3:15 p.m.
