December 14, 1954-
The City Council met in an adjourned regular meeting on this
date with Mayor Clark presiding and the following aldermen pres-
ent: Grover Hale, J. W. Clements, Leonard Wood, J. P. Hedrick,
Herman Ferguson, John Hancock and Joe T. Roach.
Present at the meeting were Attorney Chandler and Street
Supt. McMahan.
Bids for a motor grader were received from the following
companies: Shaw Equipment Co; Betty Bros. Mach. Cc; Brown-
ing Ferris Co; G. A. Coffey Co; and Darr Equipment Co.
The Council allowed each company representative from which
they had received a bid on a motor grader to discuss their
machine with them. After having talked with each of these
salesmen, due to the late hour, it was siggested that bids not
be opened at this time, but to be opened at a meeting to be
called later.
The Council discussed with Mr. Lynn Hassler the different
proposed routes for the south by-pass around the City. No ac-
tion taken.
Since there was no other business at this time, the Coun-
cil stood adjourned subject to the Mayor's call.

The City Council met in called session on this date with
Mayor Clark presiding and the following aldermen present: John
Hancock, J. P. Hedrick, Grover Hale, Leonard Wood, Joe T. Roach,
and J. W. Clements.
Others present for the meeting were J. P. Anderson, Water
Supt., and R. B. McMahan, Street Supt.
Mr. Aalen Gilbert requested of the Council to be allowed to
pay a total days parking meter receipts for advertising purpose
for free parking on all meters for December 24, 1954• It was
moved by Alderman Hale, seconded by Alderman Roach, that the City
allow Radio Station KSTV fras==zkzxXz to pay for one days park-
ing ($50.00) in exchange for free parking on all meters during
December 24, 1954- Motion carried unanimously.
The Council again allowed each company representative,from
which they had received bids on a motor grader, to discuss their
machine with them. After having heard each representative, the
following bids were opened:

It was moved by Alderman Wood, seconded by Alderman Hedr
rick, that the City go on record when they purchased a motor I
grader not to consider anything but the larger (approx. 115
HP) machine for City use. Motion carried.
It was moved by Alderman Wood, seconded by Alderman
Clements, that the Council request Darr Equipment Co. repres-
entative to appear before this group and making his company
an offer of $12,500.00 for the 115 H. P. Motor Grader and the
City be allowed to keep their old machine. Motion carried.
The above motion was complied with and Darr Equipment Com-
pany's representative discussed this matter with the Council,
but no action was taken.
The Council again discussed the south proposed loop along
with suggestions that parking be taken off both sides of Wash-
ingyon St. from E. Bosque Bridge to Railroad Crossing on West
Washington.
There being no other business at this time, the Council
stood adjourned subject to t he May orIs call.
