HomeMy WebLinkAbout1957-01-03 Ordinance Sims SurveyAN ORDINANCE MAKING A PART OF THE CITY OF STEPHENVILLE THE DOYLE WHITE LOT 27 AND THE STEPHENVILLE INDUSTRIAL FOUNDATION LOT 31 OF BLOCK 13 OF THE WM. SIMS SURVEY, HEREAFTER TO BE KNOWN AS LOTS 27 AND 31 OF BLOCK 13 OF THE SIMS ADDITION IN THE CITY OF STEPHENVILLE TEXAS, DESCRIBING SAID LAND BY METES AND BOUNDS AND DECLARING AN EMERGENCY. BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF STEPHENVILLE: That certain area of land situated adjacent to the City of Stephenville and specifically described as follows: All of that certain tract or parcel of land, hereinafter to be known as Lots Numbered Twenty Seven(27) and Thirty - One (31), of Block No. 13, of the Wm. Sims Addition, a part of the Wm. Sims Survey, Abstract No. 683, in Erath County, Texas, described by metes and bounds as follows, to -wit: BEGINNING in the North line of Highway No 377 (E. Wash- ington Street) at the S.W. Corner of the former Cole 60 acre tract ( now owned by Jack Martin, and at the S.E. Corner of the former Doyle White 65.28 acre tract out of said Sims Survey, for the S.E. Corner of this; THENCE N 30 deg W 800 feet running with the West line of the Jack Martin property and East line of the former Doyle White 65.28 acre tract to the N.E. Corner of this; THENCE S 60 deg W (at right angles to the East line of said 65.28 acres) about 1370 feet to the West line of said 65.28 acres and East line of Lot No. 19-A in Block 13 of the Sims Addition to the City of Stephenville, Texas for the N.W. Corner of this, in the East line of said City; THENCE S 10 deg 02 min E with the existing East line of said City and East line of Lot 19-A and Lot 19-B, and West line of said 65.28 acres to the S.E. Corner of Lot 19-B and N.E. Corner of Lot 22 in said Block 13; THENCE S 31 deg 30 min E 9.72 ft to the N.W. Corner of Lot 23 for the S.W. Corner of this; THENCE running Easterly parallel to and 200 feet Northerly from the North line of said Highway No.377, a distance of about 770 feet to the N.E. Corner of the J.T. Heaton Lot No. 29 which is described in deed of record in Vol. 343, page 442, deed records of Erath County, Texas; THENCE S 31 deg 45 min E 200 feet to the S.E.Corner of said Lot 29; THENCE N 58 deg 15 min E 50 feet to the S.E.Corner of a 50 by 300 ft tract conveyed by C.C.Booth to Doyle White by deed of record in Vol. 354, page 415, said deed records, and S.W.Corner of the C.C.Booth Lot 28; THENCE N 31 deg 45 min W 300 feet to the N.W. Corner of said Booth Lot 28 and N.E.Corner of said 50 by 300 ft tract conveyed to White by Booth mentioned above; THENCE N 58 deg 15 min E 150 feet to the N.E.Corner of said Booth Lot 28 and N.W. Corner of the Stephenville Industrial Foundation Lot 31; THENCE S 31 deg 45 min E 300 feet to the S.W.Corner of said Lot 31; THENCE N 58 deg 15 min E and with the North line of said Highway No. 377 and South line of said 65.28 acre tract, at 150 feet passes the S.E.Corner of said Lot 31, in all 630 feet to the place of beginning (The above field notes,and accompanying plat, were compiled by the undersigned, from the records of the County Clerk of Erath County, Texas, on December 28, 1956. Thomas B.King, Registered Public Surveyor of Texas, Register No. 425.) is hereby received into the City of Stephenville and made a part of the City of Stephenville and the City Limit lines of the City of Stephenville are hereby extended in accordance with the lines of the tract of land hereinabove described. This ordinance is passed for the purpose of granting the petition of the owners of the hereinabove described land, which is vacant and without residents, duly made in writing to this council and said territory is hereby received and annexed and the future inhabitants of such land shall be entitled to all the rights and privileges of other citizens of Stephenville and shall be bound by the acts and ordinances of the City. The fact that the owners of the hereinabove described land have made written petition to the City of Stephenville and the city council of Stephenville in accordance with law that such land be made a part of the City of Stephenville and be annexed creates a demand and need that this ordinance be enacted and creates an emergency and an imperative public necessity requiring that this ordinance become effective immediately. Therefore, any rule that might require such ordinance to be read at more than one meeting of the city council is suspend and this ordinance hereby finally adopted and passed on this 3 day of January, 1957 and same shall be effective immediately.
