OF LAND SITUATED ADJACENT TO THE CITY OF STEPHENVILLE AND BEING
OUT OF TIIE JOHN BLAIR SURVEY AND CONKCAINING 32.15 ACRES 09 LAND
DESCRIBTNG THE LAND BY ?`FETES AND BOUNDS AND DECLARING AN EMERGENCY.
BE IT ORDAINED EY THE CITY COUNCIL: OF THE. CITY OF STEPHENV'ILLE:
That certain area of land situated adjacent to the City of
Stephenville and specifically described as follows:
All of that certain tract or parcel of land calculated to
contain 32.15 acres of land, more or less, a part of the John
Blair Survey, Abst. 32, in Erath County, Texas, and being parts
of the W. W. McNeill 300 acre subdivision of said survey and of
the W. W. McNeill 500 acre subdivision of said survey, this
tract described by metes and bounds as follows:
BEGINNING at the NEC of the former W. W. McNeill 300 acre
tract in the South line of the McNeill 500 acre subdivision
in the East line of N. Harbin Avenue (F. M. Highway No.
2215) and West line of the present city limits, and in the
center of West Frey Street as it runs easterly along the
South line of the Chamberlin Addition;
THENCE N 30 deg. W. 25 feet passes the SWC of Block A
of said Chamberlin Addition according to Plat of same
recorded inthe Deed Records of Erath County, Texas, in all
675 feet with the East line of North Harbin Avenue (or
Highway 2215) to the NEC of this;
TRENCE S 60 deg. W at 100 feet pass the NEC of the Nathan
Cedars tract, Hereafter to be known as Lot 1, Block 114,
City of Stephenville, in all -126 feet to the NWC of said
Cedars tracts;
THENCE S 30 deg. E 150 feet to the NWC of the J. B. Whitacre
Lot 3 in said Block 114;
THENCE S 60 deg. W 60 feet to the NWC of the North Lydia
Avenue as presently dedicated;
THENCE S 30 deg. East 500 feet to the North line of Frey
Street at its intersection with the West line of Lydia Avenue;
THENCE S 60 Deg. W IS6 feet to the NWC of West Frey Street
as now dedicated;
THENCE S 30 deg. F at 25 feet pass the North line of the former
McNeill 300 acre tract, in all 1125 feet, more or less to
the North line of that certain tract annexed to the City of
Stephenville, Texas by ordinance of record in Volume 317,
page 10 of the Deed Records of Erath County, Texas, at its
intersection with the West line of North Charlotte Avenue
for the SWC of this;
THENCE N 60 Deg. E running with the North lane of tract an-
nexed to the city in 1919 972 Feet to the NEC of said annex-
ation of 1919, in the Last line of North Harbin Avenue for
the SEC of this;
THENCE N 30 de. W 1100 foet,more or less, with the East
line of said Harbin Avenue to the place of beginning.
The above described tract consists of 31.15 acres, more or
Less, and is made of the following listed lots or partial lots:
OF the L. H. Groesbeeck Subdivision, according to the plat of
same of record :in Volume 3-18, page 114, Deed Records of
Erath County, Texas, as follows:
Lots 1 through 36 inclusive in block No. 1;
Lots 1 and 36 and the north parts of Lots 2 and 35 in block 0;
Lots I and 36 and the North parts of Lots 2 and 35 in Block 3;
Lots 1 through 36 inclusive in Block No. I;
That part of the above described tract which lies north of
West Frey Street to be hereafter known as Block lt4 in the
City of Stephenville and consisting of Lots 1 to t inclusive;
is hereby received into the City of Stephenville and made a part
of the City of Stephenville and the city limit lines of the City
of Stephenville are hereby extended in accordance with thelines
of the tract of land hereinabove described.
The fact that an election has been held in compliance with
.article 97t of the Revised Civil Statutes of Texas in the area of
land here.inabove described in which a majority of the inhabitants
qualified to vote for members of the State Legislature voted in
favor of becoming a part of the City of Stephenville and an affi-
davit has been made by three of said inhabitants to the fact of
boldin- this election and its having carried by a majority which
affidavit has been filed with the Playorof the City ,of Stephenville,
who has certified the same to the City Council, creates a demand
and need that this ordinance be enacted and further creates an
emer-ency and an imperative public necessity requiring that this
ordinance become effective immediately. Therefore, any rule of
law that might require such ordinance to he read at more than one
meeti.na of the city council. is suspended and the same are hereby
suspended and this ordinanc hereby finally adopted and passed on
