The City Council met in a called meeting on the above date with Mayor Evans prediding and the following Aldermen present: David Hugon, Charles Riggins, Philip Price, Herman Ferguson, J. P. Hedrick, Dean Murray, and Scott D. Reed. Others present were Water Superintendent Anderson, Street Superintendent McMahan, ind City Attorney Chandler. Alderman Riggins, Chairman of the Park, reported that his FJ committee had looked into the possibility of hiring a golf pro. to manage and maintain the City's golf course; and made these recommendations in the form of a motion. The motion by Alderman Riggins was made that the City hire Mr. Pete Santos to manage and maintain the City's golf course at a salary of $200.00 per month, effective as of May 1, 19561, and that the present golf course keeper, Ben F. Allen, be transferred to the City Park. This motion was seconded by Alderman Reed. Motion carried. Messrs. Davis and Williams, representatives of Reaves and Gregory, Consulting Engineers, reported on the complete plans and specifications, together with their estimate of cost, for the proposed improvement to the City's sanitary sewage system. The above matter was discussed, and at this time, Messers. Vickers and -Porter, representatives of Gifford -Hill Pipe, was permitted to appear before the Council to request an adendem be added to allow concrete pipe to be included in Engineer specifications for improvement to the sanitary sew- age system, and to answer all questions on concretd pipe in sanitary sewer systems. A motion was made by Alderman Reed, seconded by Alderman Murray, that the City request the engineering firm, Reaves and Gregory to add to their bid specifications, an adendem to allow bids to be received on conrete pipe, as an alternate to clay pipe. Motion carried. A motion was made by Alderman Hedrick, seconded by Alderman Ferguson, that plans and specifications as prepared by Reaves and Gregory Consulting Engineers, be accepted, and the City to advertise for sealed bids on these plans and specifications; said bids to be in the City Hall, Stephenville, Texas by 7:00 P.M. on May 24, 1956. Motion carried unanimously. A motion was made by Alderman Ferguson, seconded by Alderman Ri gins that the City pay Reaves and Gregory Engineering Firm 4 on i148,797.35 less $1000,00 partial credit for preliminary report furnished by the City, making a total of $4,951.89 for plans and specifications for improvement to the sanitary sewage system. Motion carried. There being no other business at this time, the Council stood adjourned subject to the Mayor's call. ATTEI : 1 4i Secretary. 11 mayor
