guson, that the City+s 1955 Tax Roll be accepted and approved.
Motion carried.
Opened and read at this time was a letter from Mayor W. R.
West of McKinney, Texas, requesting the aid of all City Officials;
by writing to their U. S. Senators and Congressmen protesting the
closing of the Veterans Hospital at McKinney. After some discussion
it was suggested that Mayor Clark write these different individuals
and protest the closing of the above mentioned hospital.
Mr. R. B. McMahan, Street Supt.,'reported that he had received
several complaints concerning a new paving job on N. Paddock St.,
which he believed was influenced by a City Employee working in his
Department. After some discussion it was suggested by the Council
that since Mr. McMahan was the Department Head in charge that he
should handle the situation as he saw fit.
It was moved by Alderman Ferguson,. seconded by Alderman Mur-
ray, that $250.00 be transferred from the General Fund to the Park
Fund. Motion carried.
The Council discussed the Sewer Survey made by Mr. Charles;
Yantis and afterward it was moved by Alderman White, seconded by
Alderman Hedrick, that the City call an election to vote $150,000.00
tax supported bonds for the purpose of sewer improvement, such el-
ection to be called officially at some future meeting of the Coun-
cil and in accordance with bond schedule to be worked out with the
assistance of bond experts, same to be contacted by the Finance
Committee. Motion carried. Alderman Farr requested to be recorded
as voting "No."
Mayor Clark requested the Finance Committee to make the nec-
essary arrangements by contacting bond experts to handle the bond
issue.
It was moved by Alderman Murray, seconded by Alderman Riggins,
that bills and accounts be allowed and ordered paid. Motion carried.
There being no other business, the Council stood adjourned sub-
ject to the Mayor's call.
