November 4, 1941.
The City Council of the City of Stephenville, Texas, met in
regular session on November 4th, 1941, witl: Mayor J. VV. Clements
presiding and the following Aldermen present: Dan Lane, Fred
McCleskey, Doyle Vvhite, Chas. Neblett Jr., C. A. McDonald, and
L. Riggins.
The Mayor stated that they were open for busines, and the
minutes of the previous meetings were read and approved.
Bob Henson, Jack Price, Mrs. Earl feathers, Mrs. Frank Carlton,
and Yrs. J. C. Terrell appeared before the Council asking that a
traffic light be placed at the west corner of the Junior High
School Campus, also one at the east corner of the Gard School
Campus. A Yr. Pot`s, salesman of traffic lights, stated that the''
two section lights would cost $355.60 plus installation, and that
three section lights would cost $433.80 plus installation. It wag
roved by Fred t.'c.Cleskey, seconded by Doyle "dhite, that the Law &
Order Committee consult with the Teachers and School Board on this
matter. Lotion carried.
11r. Oren A. Ellis came before the Council asking for the
Insurance on the City Hall building. This item was tabled until
a later meeting.
It was „,oved by C. A. T,'cDonald, seconded by Dan Lane, that
the City contract with 11r. W. F. Turner at 2.2 cents per line on
compiling the delinquent tax record from 1921 to 1940 inclusive.
Yotion carried.
City Attorney, Joseph A. Chandler, presented to the Council
for approval an ordinance for the collection of delinquent taxes.,:
It was moved by Chas. Neblett Jr., seconded by C. A. McDonald, that
the ordinance be accepted and approved. Motion carried. (Same
being hereto attached and being a part of these minutes).
It was moved by C. A. McDonald, seconded by Doyle white, that
the City hire J. Buren Cox and Travis Latham as fire truck driveri
at a salary of $75.00 each per month, and that Mr. Cox resign as
Fire Chief. The motion was carried.

It was moved by C. A. McDonald, seconded by Dan Land, that
the City make a deal with Mr. C. E. Settle for 300 feet of lz incl�
fire hose at a price of �225.00, less 2% for cash. Yotion carried.
It was moved by C. A. McDonald, seconded by Chas. Neblett Jr6
that the City pay Henry `."ehrman50.00 as damage on right-of-way
on North Graham St. The inotion was carried.
Bills and accounts were read and on motion by C. A. McDonald;
;seconded by L. Riggins, were allowed and ordered paid. !'
There being no other business the Council stood fdjourned
in an adjourned regular meeting, subject to the idayor's call.
