Stephenville, Texas
October 7, 1941.
The City Council of the City of Stephenville, Texas, met in
regular session on October 7, 1941, with Mayor J. W. Clements
presiding, and the following Aldermen present: Chas. Neblett Jr`
Dan Goodgame, L. Riggins, Doyle White, Dan Lane and C. A. McDonai4.
Business session was opened by the Mayor. Minutes of previoija
meetings were read and approved.
Messrs. Jack Price, Paul Higginbotham, Fred Wolfe, and Fount
Taylor, appeared before the Council asking that the City equip the
Leigon Hall with some 200 chairs and fixtures for the three rest
rooms. At discussion time, Mayor Clements vacated the chair and
ask Mr. L. Riggins, Mayor Pro-Tem, to take charge. A motion was
made by Chas. 14eblett Jr., seconded by Doyle White, that the Gityjl
buy three commodes and three lavatories and install same in the
three rest rooms, and that Dan Goodgame, Chairman of the Park
Committee, was to confer with the Leigon Committee about the chairs.
Motion carried.
Mayor Clements now entering the chair and presiding.
An Ordinance prepared by the City Attorney in connection with
the Fire Department going outside the City Limits was presented tq
the Council for approval, and said attorney stated that he would
contact County Commissioners Court with ordinance for their ap-
proval. It was moved by Dan Goodgame, seconded by L. Riggins, th*t
the ordinance be passed. Motion carried. (Same being hereto at
tacked and being a part of these minutes).
After discussion of ways and means of collecting delinquent
taxes, it was moved by Chas. Neblett Jr., seconded by L. Riggins,;
that the City Attorney prepare an ordinance in connection with the
discussion and have same at the next Council meeting for approvall
The motion was carried.
It was moved by Doyle White, seconded by C. A. McDonald, that
the delinquent records for the years 1921 to 1940, inclusive, be .i
compiled, and that the City Secretary get bids and other informs-;
tion needed by next regular council meeting. Motion carried.
It was moved by C. A. McDonald, seconded by L. Riggins, that;
Buster White be made relief fire truck driver� �a0. B. Sageserj
assistant driver Motion carried.

It was moved by C. A. McDonald, seconded by Doyle White, that
the City buy-Geo. Williams, nightwatchman, a rain coat and hat.
Motion carried.
Bills and accounts were read and on motion by C. A. McDonald:
AAnonded by Dan Lane. were allowed and ordered Daid.
There being no further business, the Council stood adjourned r
in an adjourned regular meeting, subject to the Mayors call.
