'he City Council of Stephenville, Texas, met in regular
session on June 3, 1941, with b`ayor J. W. Clements presiding, and 11
the following aldermen present: Chas. heblett Jr., Doyle V+hite,
J. D. Goodgame, Fred I:cC1esL--ey, L. Riggins and C. A. i cDonald.
V'escrs. I. B. Henson Jr. and H. K. Jones came before the
Council in regard to the water situation north of Highway 10, on
the west side of the City. Yo action was taken on this matter.
Dean J. Thos. Davis and Yr. A. J. Spangler, from the Tarletorij
College, appe red in regard to having the road fixed from Graham !,
Street to the College Farm.
Yiss 'ihitaker and Mr. '.'aebb, of the Public "ielfe.re Department ,1
came before the Council asking for more office space in connection
with their offices. It was moved by Fred McCleskey, seconded by
C. A. I.1CDonald, that the Council try to arrange for more office
space in the City Hall. Motion carried.
It vas moved by Chas. heblett Jr., seconded by C. A. NcDonald.
that the Plur,.bers Bond of Hugh Sowell be rejected. fliotion carried.
It ryas moved by C. A. McDonald, seconded b- J. D. Goodgame,
to fix the trade lot first with gravel from the streets. Motion 1
carried.
T_t was moved by C. A. rv:CDonald, seconded by Doyle �vhite, that)
the City sponsor a "J. P. A. project but put out no money. The
motion wac carried.
It was moved by C. A. McDonald, seconded by J. D. Goodgame,
that the Law & Order Committee hire a man to paint signs and en -
"force traffic ordinance. Yotion carried.
It was moved by C. A. McDonald, seconded by Chas. Neblett Jr
that the bills and accounts be allowed and ordered paid. Motion
carried.
There being no further business, the Council stood adjourned
in an adjourned regular meeting, subject to the T.ayor's call.
