Stephenville, Texas
April 1, 1941.
The City Council of Stephenville, Texas, met in regular
session on April lst, 1941, with Mayor J. W. Clements presiding
and the following aldermen present: Chas. Neblett Jr., Fred
McCleskey, T. T. Oliver, L. Riggins and Doyle White.
Minutes of previous meeting were read and approved.
Carl Birdwell and Wallace Scott came before the Council ask-
ing that the City continue to pay part of the expense of the
County Sewing Room. After discussion, it was moved by Doyle
White, seconded by Fred McCleskey, that the City pay one-half the
expenses of the Sewing Room for a period of three months, beginni
April 1, 1941. Motion carried.
It was moved by Fred McCleskey, seconded by T. T. Oliver, thit
the Council pass a resolution to lease to John Tarleton College it
,the City Air -Port (said resolution being.attached to these minute
and being a part thereof). The motion was duly carried.
Returns of a City Election held on Qpril 1, 1941, were can-
vassed and it was found that Fred McCleskey, T. T. Oliver, Dan
Lane and C. A. McDonald received the highest vote in their res-
pective wards, and were declared elected for a term of two years.;'
J. D. Goodgame received the highest vote in Ward No. 4 for the
unexpired term of one year and was declared elected for said term'
It was moved by Chas. Neblett Jr., seconded by L. Riggins,
that Mrs. John Wright be furnished free water to the minimum
amount. All water above minimum at the regular rates, for an
indefinite time, also that all past due bills be cancelled. The
motion carried.

Bills and accounts were read and on motion by L. Riggins,
,seconded by Chas. Neblett Jr., were allowed and ordered paid.

There being no further business, the Council stood adjourned',!
in an adjourned regular meeting, subject to the Ma-yor's call.
