Approve Bid Award for 2016 Tarleton Methodist Branch Sanitary Sewer Relief Line Public Works Director Nick Williams explained that the purpose of this project isto install a 21-inch sewer main from the Tarleton campus to City Park where the 30-inch outfall line runs to the treatment facility. The recent expansion at Tarleton has resulted in the installation of 15- and 12-inch lines. These two lines connect where the city currently has a 10-inch line, which is undersized and not able to handle the flow. Studies conducted last year shows that the capacity of the downstream system is 85% under capacity for the projected flow from Tarleton expansion. Staff recommends awarding the bid to B&L Construction Company in the amount of $1,988,711. The city's finance department has indicated funding reserves are available for this project. Williams reported that there is a $2.7M fund balance available for this project. He also stated that because of the urgency of the project, we were not able to meet the timelines for any state water revolving funds, which would be the most applicable for this project. He said that he will be contacting the Texas Water Development Board for any possible reimbursement funding. Mayor Weldon asked that the record reflect that the city will be pursuing reimbursement for this project from the state, and there will be a report made to the council.
