HomeMy WebLinkAbout1990-08-22 - Special City Council MINUTES OF SPECIAL MEETING City of Stephenville - City Council WEDNESDAY, AUGUST 22, 1990 - 5: 15 P.M. The City Council of the City of Stephenville, Texas, convened in special session on August 22, 1990 at 5:15 p.m. in the Council Chambers of City Hall , 354 N. Belknap, with the meeting being open to the public and notice of said meeting, giving the date, time, place and subject thereof, having been posted as prescribed by Article 6252-17, Section 3A, V.T.C.S. , with the following members present, to wit: Mayor: George Swearingen Bob Self Mayor Pro Tem: Helen Martin Sam Taylor II Ray Reynolds James L. McSwain Lavinia Lohrmann Absent: Scott Evans and Jim Bostic Others Attending: Don Davis City Administrator Joyce Pemberton City Secretary Charlene Young Director of Finance I : Mayor George Swearingen called the meeting to order and declared a quorum present. II : CAPITAL IMPROVEMENTS COMMITTEE REPORTS A. Water and Wastewater Committee: Mr. Joel Hillin, Chairman of the Committee, presented the Committee' s recommendations to the City ( 1 Council for consideration. (copy of recommendations attached) . B. Parks and Leisure Committee: Mr. Steve Steed, Chairman of the Committee, presented the Committee' s recommendations to the City Council for con- sideration. (copy of recommendations attached) . C. Public Facilities and Equipment: Mr. Don Coan, Chairman of the Committee, presented the Committee's recommendations to the City Council for consideration. (copy of recommendations attached) . D. Streets and Storm Drainage: Dr. Don Zelman, Chairman of the Committee, presented the Committee' s recommendations to the City Council for their consideration. (copy of recommendations attached) . Mayor Swearingen said he personally thanked all the committee members for their work. The Committees have done a great job. The Council , in the near future, will have work sessions to discuss the priorities of these different recommen- dations. They can't all be completed next year, but he felt the Council will come up with a good prioritized list of what they feel is worthy of the "first slice of the pie". Councilmember Helen Martin made the motion, seconded by Councilmember Jim McSwain. that the City Council supports the Mayor in his thanks to the Committees.
