The City Council met in a called meeting on this date with Mayor Cook presid-
ing &ftd the following councilmen present: Hubert Darby, Mrs. Fred McCleskey, E.
Lee Orbison, Chas. Rigging, Roy Swaim, Bill Christian, W. H. Stem and Mrs. Doyle
White.
Mayor Cook reported the purpose of this meeting was to discuss the proposed
water expansion program.
Councilman Stem reported the estimated cost to drill one well and connect it

to the 'system would be $300,000.00.
It was moved by Councilman Stem, seconded by Councilman Riggins, to ask the
Engineers to prepare plans and specifications for developing two wells, pipe lines,
and all necessary thingsto connect the wells to the.present water system. Motion
carried unanimously.
It was moved by Councilman Swaim, seconded by Councilman Orbison, to grant
Texas Power & Light Company the right to furnish electricity for the proposed new
wells. Motion carried.
It was moved by Councilman Christian, seconded by Councilman Darby, to hire
Joe Loudermilk for Recreation Director at a salary of $300.00 per month. Mr.
Loudermilk to work until June 1, 1964, also that the Park Committee and new Direc-
tor hire the necessary summer employees. Motion carried.
