April 3, 1964.
The City Council met in called meeting on the above date with Mayor Evans
presiding and the following councilmen present: Hubert Darby, Mark Geeslin,
Raymond Anderson, Roy Swaim, Harlan Huey and W. H. Stem.
Messrs. Homer Hunter and George Fagan appeared before the Council to briefly
discuss the present storage and distribution of the water department. It was stated
that these facilities are adequate at this time.
Mr. Fagan presented a map showing the proposed well sites and pointed out the
proposed route of the pipeline. It was recommended that a 14 inch pipeline be in-
stalled. Estimates of the cost of pipeline and tying in of one well was given, also
the cost of two wells if it is found that two wells are needed.
It was moved by Councilman Huey, seconded by Councilman Geeslin, to authorize
Homer Hunter & Associates to prepare plans and specifications for the laying of
pipeline and tying in of one new well, and plans and specifications for pipeline
and tying in two new wells. Motion carried.
Messrs. Eddie Williams and James Young appeared before the Council stating
an application for building permit was turned down. The building foundation has
been set 25 feet from the street, as stated in the restrictions in the Lockwood
Addition. Mr. Williams and Mr. Young do not understand why the permit was turned
down. The Council explained that City Zoning Ordinance specifies in a Residence
1 Areaa, that houses will set back 30 feet from the front property line. Any change
in this will have to be appealed to the Board of Adjustment.
There being no other business at this time, the Council stood adjourned sub-
ject to the Mayorts call.
