_ January 21, 1964-
The City Council met in a regular meeting on the above date with Mayor Evans
presiding and the following Councilmen present: I. D. Reynolds, Mark Geeslin, E.
Lee Orbison, Raymond Anderson, Roy Swain, Harlan Huey and W. H. Stem.
Councilman Anderson, reporting for the Park & Recreation Committee, stated they
have the following recommendations:
1. The Park & Recreation Board shall have 7 members.
2. There will be 4 members appointed for a term of 2 years and 3 members for'
a term of 1 year.
3. The Board to -elect its officers other than the chairman who will be appointed
by the Council.
4• Term of office shall begin on January 1st.
The following members appointed for a term of 2 years, beginning January 1, 1964:
C. M. Flory, Mrs. Fred McCloskey, Mrs. L. A. King and Bill Bane. C. M. Flory appointed
as Chairman of the Board.
These members to serve a term of 1 year, beginning January 1, 1964:: Frank Havalak,
Mrs. George Sparkman and Clinton C. Cox.
It was moved by Councilman Anderson, seconded by Councilman Reynolds, to adopt
the above as recommended by the Committee. Motion carried.
It was moved by Councilman Swain, seconded by Councilman Geeslin, that the City
Attorney draw up an ordinance granting to Tabor & Associates rights to operate a
Community Antenna System in the City. Motion carried.
It was agreed that in the future the Chamber of Commerce be responsible for in- 't
stalling and removing the Christmas Lights, also that the lights be so placed not to
obstruct the traffic signals.
It was moved by Councilman Huey, seconded by Councilman Swain, to authorize the
Mayor to sign a contract with Wm. F. Guyton Associates to prove up a well field and
engineer the drilling of 1 production well in such well field. Motion carried.
There being no other business at this time, the Counc stood adjour ed subject
to the Mayor's call.
