January 10, 1964.
The City Council met in called meeting on this date with Mayor Evans presiding
and the following Councilmen present: I. D. Reynolds, Mark Geeslin, E. Lee Orbison,
Raymond Anderson, Roy Swain, Harlan Huey and W. H. Stem.
The Mayor reported the purpose of the meeting was to hear a report of the
Water Resources Committee.
Mr. Hugh Wolfe read and discussed the report of the Water Resources Committee
as follows:
Based upon estimates of cost for six, potential sources of water to serve the
present and future needs of the City of Stephenville, this committee recommends the
following:
Develop a new well field southeast of the City, as per Wm. F. Guyton report,
or start a new well field one -half mile southeast of the Airport well as suggested
by J. R. Barnes. -
Employ J. R. Barnes to explore and map a well field, design and engineer wells,
storage, transmission and distribution system to fit the present and future needs of
the City, construct a new well or wells as required. Correct water pressure deft=
ciencies wherever they exist. Develop a surplus capacity of water with adequate
means of delivery so water will be plentiful during peak demands.
The City Secretary called J. R. Barnes and asked that he accept the job of
carrying out the above plans. Mr. Barnes could not handle this until a later date.
The Council agreed to contact Wm. F. Guyton and ask them to accept the job as
outlined above.
