The City Council met in called session on this date with Mayor Evans presiding
and the following Councilmen present: Virgil Dickerson, I. D. Reynolds, Wm. 0. Croft,
Albert Graves, Scott D. Reed and W. H. Stem.
The purpose of this meeting was to open and consider bids for the Police Sta-
tion building.
Mr. Briggs, of Stanley Brown Architects, opened and read the following bids:

Mayor Evans stated that all bids were over the amount estimated by the ar-
chitect and the Council will have to discuss this
before any contrgnt is awarded.
The Mayor expressed appreciation to all bidders on the building.
After discussion, it was moved by Councilman
Reed, seconded by Councilman
Dickerson, to reject all bids. Motion carried.
It was moved by Councilman Dickerson, seconded by Councilman Graves, to ask
the architect to send the design engineers out to
meet with the Law & Order Com-
mittee, along with Councilman Dickerson, and draw
up some plans for a complete
new building. The old building to be torn down.
Motion carried.
