March 10, 1959,
The City Council met in called session on this date Mayor Pro -Tem Reed
presiding and the following aldermen present: Virgil Dickerson, Marvin Ratliff,
-Chas. Riggins,,Walter Brandon, Albert Graves and Van E. Allen.
Alderman Allen reported the plans and specifications for construction at the
Airport were ready for action of the Council.
It was moved by Alderman Dickerson, seconded by Alderman Riggins, to adopt
a resolution directing the City Secretary to publish a notice to bidders for the
construction of airport facilities, and notice that the Council intends to issue
Time Warrants; prescribing the form of the notice; specifying the general preval-
ing rate of Per Diem wages in the City of Stephenville and Erath County, and re-
solving other matters relating thereto. Motion carried (said resolution being
attached to and becoming a part of these minutes).
Alderman Allen reported Mr. Lee Orbison had made an offer to the City of
$1000.00 for a strip of land north of the National Guard Armory, fronting on
Highway 281, approximately 215 feet. After discussion, it was moved by Alderman
Rit'liff, seconded by Alderman Allen, to sell the above property to Mr. Orbison
for $2000.00. Motion carried.
It was moved by Alderman Dickerson, seconded by Alderman Brandon, to accept
the dedication of a plat for subdivision of the King & Braauer Addition, and ded-
icating a 50 ft. street to be known as Bingham Avenue. Motion carried (said ded-
ication and plat being attached to and becoming a part of these minutes).
There being no other business at this date, the Council stood adjourned sub-
ject to the Mayor's call. A
