in called meeting on the above date with Mayor Arthur pre -
councilmen present: Robert Herrin, Mrs. Doyle White, Roy
M. Irwin, Raymond Anderson, Telefus B. Cawyer and Mrs. Fred
The Mayor reported the purpose of this meeting is to discuss the problem of
ambulance service which will no longer be provided by the funeral homes after Sep-
_ tember 30, 1966.
It was moved by Councilman Anderson, seconded by Councilman Riggins, that the
City recognizes a problem to furnish ambulance service and wishes to meet with
Commissioners Court to try and work out this problem. Motion carried unanimously.
The Council agreed to pursue any lead on an individual who may be interested
in a franchise to furnish ambulance service.
The Mayor also reported that Mr. Fallin has been contacted and agreed to dis-
cuss this problem with the Oity Council. A called meeting will be held as soon as
the Commissioners Court can meet with the Council.
A request from the owners of Crockett Hall was discussed. The request to be
allowed to erect signs on City property, such signs to direct persons to the new
dormitory. It was moved by Councilman Riggins, seconded by Councilman Cawyer, to
table this request until the next regular meeting of the Council, this being done
to allow time to study the request. Motion carried.
There being no other business at this time, the Counc, tood adjourned sub-
ject to the Mayor's call.
