Stephenville, Texas
March 14, 1966.
The City Council met in a called meeting on this date with Mayor Arthur presiding
and the following councilmen present: Nrs. Doyle White, Roy Swain, Chas. Riggins, Bill
Christian, Telefus B. Cawyer and Mrs. Fred McCleskey.
Mr. E. A. Blanchard appeared before the Council stating he and Mr. Skiles have
the following recommendation: That J. D. McCullough be appointed as the other member
of the Board of Equalization for the year 1966. This recommendation was accepted by
the Council and Mr. McCullough appointed as a member of the Board of Equalization.
The'Couneil discussed the need for an additional water well and the location for
such well site. It was pointed out that to drill beyond the last well on the Alexander
Road would-be very expensive since approximately a mile of pipeline would be necessary.
To'move toward town and drill a well near existing pipeline would be less expensive and
would be in the approximate recommended distance for locating wells.
The approximate cost of a well site will be $600.00 and cost of well would be
$27000.00 plus pump and engineering. fees.
It "was moved by Councilman Christian, seconded by Councilman Swain, to hire
Texas Water Wells Inc., to.drill a new well, the well to be on site on the Alexander
Road between the City and the present well in that area. Motion carried unanimously.
'The Council asked City Secretary Cates to contact Homer Hunter Associates, engin-
eers, and determine the cost of engineering on the new well.
Councilman Cawyer reported the grass is doing some damage to the runways at the
City Airport, this needs to be corrected before further damage is done. There is also
a leak in the roof at the City Airport. Agreed to do the necessary things at the Air-
port.
There being no'other business at this time, the Council stood adjourned subject
to the Mayor's call.
