The —Ety Council met in a called meeting on the above date with Mayor Arthur presiding
and the following council members present: Robert Herrin, Mrs. Doyle White, Garlands
Loudermilk, Charles Riggint, W. M. Irwin, Telefus Cawyer, Raymond Anderson, and Mrs.
Fred McCleskey.
Mr. Dan Allmon appeared before the council and presented an ordinance accepting bids,
and authorizing the issuance of warrants for street improvements.
It was moved by Councilman Riggins, seconded by Councilman Loudermilk to adopt
an ordinance awarding contracts and authorizing issuance of warrants for street improve-
ments. Motion carried unanimously. (Said ordinance being attached to and becoming
a part of these minutes).
-- Mayor reported that the Chamber of Commerce has planned a city wide cleanup campaign,
and asked the city to pay the expenses of hauling of trash and junk.
' Mr. Harlan Hue Mr. Ha ca Y appeared before the council and agreed to' furnish the trucks for the
cleanup ppaign; provided the city will pay for labor and gasoline.
It was moved by Councilman Irwin, seconded by Councilwoman McCleskey, that the city
pay for labor and gasoline for the cleanup campaign. Motion carried unanimously.
Councilman Loudermilk reported that a complaint has been received of no water at the
airport hanger and office. This problem being created by small lines and the fact
that the concrete plant being much lower elevation, the water does not reach the
hanger. It was reported that the concrete plant is in the process of installing a
larger storage and will not be constantly drawing water from the small main line.
There being no other business at this time the council stood adiournar]
