The City Council met in a called meeting on the above date with Mayor Arthur pre-
siding and the following council members present: Robert Herrin, Don Metsgar,
Garland Loudermilk, Charles Riggins, W. M. Irwin, Telefus Cawyer, Raymond Anderson,
and Mrs. Fred McCleskey.
Also present was Mr. Carl Chumney.
The following bids received for remodeling the post office building:
Vernon Gunn ---------------- $24,233.00
_ Arnold Hale---------- - - - - -- 27,331.00
The council discussed the bids and it was moved by Councilman Riggins, seconded by
Councilwoman McCleskey, to accept the bid of Vernon Gunn; provided the proper check
be put up as set out in the specifications. Motion carried unanimously.
There being no other business at this time the cc ncil s pod adjourned, subject
to the Mayor's call. � �1 �

The City Council met in a called meeting on the above date with Mayor Arthur pre-
siding and the following council members present: Robert Herrin, /Garlan Loudermilk,
Charles Riggins, W. M Irwin, Telefus Cawyer, Raymond Anderson and Mrs Fred McCleskey.
Mayor read a report of recomendations of the Zoning Commission and Adjustment Board.

Several interested citizens appeared before the council.
There were no objections to the change of Zoning; however there were the following
comments on change regulating house trailers:
Mr. Dewight Gaines would like for the zoning on Alexander Road to remain as Residence

Mrs. Gertrude McElyea feels that property owners should be allowed to use their land
as they want too.
It was moved by Councilman Riggins, seconded by Councilman Irwin, to accept the re-
comendations of the Zoning Commission and Adjustment Board as follows:
From Residence 1 to Business 1 beginning at the southwest corner of the Fireside
Estate Addition north to the northwest corner of said addition, east to Lillian street,
north to South Loop, west to the east boundary line of lot ion,
owned by Howard Ross,
south to the boundary of lot 5A, west to city limits, east to place of beginning. Also
from Residence 1 to Business 2 beginning on northeast corner of lot 5A then south
to east corner of said lot, than west to city limits, and north along west side of lot
6, block 32, South Side to South Loop, east along South Loop to place of beginning.
Also recomended that the zoning on both sides of Alexander Rd. between Long street and
Loop 195 remain as presently_zoned.
Also reomended that Paragraph H, section 6, R -2 district be deleted. That Paragraph
G be added to section 7. B -1 district as follows:
After obtaining a permit from the city building inspector, a house trailer may be
installed on a city lot and utilized as a single family dwelling in leiu of a house
subject to the following:
1. Size of trailer: Minimum of 300 square feet, factorjVbuilt or equavilent,
and in good repair.
2. Sanitation: Self contained, both toilet, drains, etc., free of leaks, and
meet city plumbing code.regulations.

3. Meters: Water and all other !e the same as required
';;dwelling. for a single family.
4. House trailers now located in residential sections may remain in these areas
as non- conforming units untill moved.
5. House trailers may be installed in R -2 sections as provided in section G
with the following provisions:
A. Owner occupancy (non rental).
B. Must have permission in wx tirig,;,from adjacent property owners
to be filed with building inspector.
C. If the above conditions are satisfactory, the Building Inspector
may issue a non - conforming permit.
Motion to adopt the above recomendations carried by unanimous vote.
