The City Council met on the above date in a called session with the following members
present: Jack Curtis, Toby Stone, Garland Loudermilk, Mrs. Fred McCleskey, Doug
Smithey, Don Metsgar and Mayor John Skipper presiding.
A final plat by Seth Moore was presented to the council. Request was for 6 lots
to be developed in Tanglewood 2 Addition.
Discussion followed bvith Public Works Director Gann stating the need for an 8"
line from Dale Ave. to Tanglewood as there were only 3 main feedlines from Harbin
Dr. to this area.
Councilman Curtis made a motion seconded by Councilman Stone that the council accept
and approve this final plat as recommended by the City Planning Commission with
the development of only the 6 southerly lots.
The council had a discussion relative to a recent request by Mr. Carruth for a re-
solution concerning rental subsidy by federal government on a apartment house
complex. Mr. Oscar Hammit appeared before the council stating that his company
had presented a previous plan for an ap`- rtment house north of the Gibson's
property and requested equal consideration..
,5 - -- --..The appointed committee reported thathe Carruth project was outside the city limits
and no action was taken. Councilman Metsgar made a motion seconded by Councilman
Smithey that the council not make any resolution relative to any rental subsidy
housing projects. Motion carried.
Motion was made by Councilman Curtis seconded by Councilman Loudermilk that Council-
-man Curtis contact Bill Bledsoe in regards to his picking up trash barrels on the
square and also those at the city park for $77.00 per month; otherwise he will
contact another -,hauler who has promised to haul all trash at city square and city
park for $75.00 a month. Motion carried.
After a report from Mr. Byron Singleton concerning the Industrial Foundation locating
a new industry in the city. Councilman Loudermilk made a motion seconded by Council-
woman McCleskey that the council go along with the Industrial Foundation in that
the city would furnish the labor and the Foundation would carry the cost of the
materials in laying water lines to the industry's site. Motion carried.
No further business at this time, council stood
