CITY COUNCIL CHAMBER
JANUARY 21, 1975
CITY OF STEPHENVILLE, TEXAS
The City Council of the City of Stephenville, Texas met in Special Session
Tuesday, January 21, 1975, at 3 o'clock p.m., with Mayor Donald R. Jones pre_,
siding and the following Councilmen present: Jim Chambers, Roy McCoy, Charles
Riggins, Raymond Anderson, Jesse Sexton and Larry Hammett. Councilmen W. M.
Irwin and Neal Guthrie were absent.
Others attending the meeting were City Administrator Shelton, Director of
Personnel Kurt Ackerman and City Secretary Joyce Pemberton.
Mayor Jones explained that the purpose of this meeting was to discuss and
decide whether or not to grant a cost of living salary increase for the city
employees. Mr. Shelton submitted a report to the Mayor and each Councilman
as to what it would cost the city and several alternatives for raising the
revenue to offset the increase in salaries. -
After Considerable discussion, Councilman Hammett moved, seconded by
Councilman Riggins, to grant, retroactive to January 1, 1975, a salary increase
of $35.00 per month per individual. After more discussion, Mayor Jones called
for question and the above motion carried unanimously.
Mayor Jones asked for a report on the proposed water well sites. Mr. Shelton
reported that Mr. Jerry Parham had signed the easement and Mr. Dallas Thompson
had said he would. A petition had been brought in protesting the one on
Mr. Charles Neblett's place or around there. Mr. Shelton also-reported that
Mr. Chandler thought it would be advisable to ignore the petition and, if
necessary, go through with a condemnation suit and get this behind us.
Mayor Jones said he would like to have it settled as to which ones would
sign the easements by the next meeting, then decide if a condemnation suit
needed to be filed
In regard to the damage claim filed by Mr. W. E. Sullivan, Mr. Shelton
reported that he had Mr. Henry Turney agree to look at the Sullivan property
and he will make a proposal to the Council for the crop damage.
Councilman Hammett reported that the committee for the new fire station
had met'and went through the book of designs of fire stations and did not
find one that they liked as well asathe floor plan they now have. They have
written to some other place's to see what they have, but have not heard from
them as yet.

ORDINANCE AMENDING TRAILER COACH AND MOBILE HOME ORDINANCE ENACTED BY THE
CITY COUNCIL ON MARCH 49 1969 BY CHANGING SECTIONS SEVEN AND NINE THEREOF
AND REPEALING SECTION EIGHT THEREOF
BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF STEPHENVILLE$ TEXAS:
Section One
Section Seven of said ordinance is hereby changed and amended to read
as follows:
Registration of Occupants
It shall be the duty of the Park owner to keep a register containing
a record of all trailer coach or mobile home owners and occupants located
within the park. The register shall contain the following information:
A. Name and mailing address of owner
B. Make and model of mobile home
C. The year and color of mobile home
D. The length and width of mobile home
E. Serial number of mobile home
F. The date of arrival and departure of each mobile home
Section Two
Section Eight of said ordinance is hereby cancelled, annulled and
deleted and said Section Eight shall no longer be a part of said ordinance.
Section Three
Section Nine of said ordinance is hereby changed and amended to read as
follows:
No trailer coach or mobile home shall be permitted to move without a
permit from the Building Inspector or a person so designated to issue a
permit. This includes any trailer coach or mobile home moving into or
from a mobile home park, as well as an individual lot. It shall be the
duty of the Mobile Home Park Operator to notify the Building Inspector of
the City of Stephenville of any intention by any occupant to move from such
mobile home park.
