CHAMBER OF THE CITY COUNCIL
CITY HALL, CITY OF STEPHENVILLE, TEXAS
The City Council of the City of Stephenville, Texas, met in Special Session,
Tuesday, January 11, 1977, at 3:00 p.m., with Mayor Donald R. Jones present and pre-
siding. Councilmembers W.M.Irwin, Charles Riggins, Raymond Anderson, Ermer Ferguson,
Larry Hammett and Betty Heath were present. Councilmen Jim Chambers and Calvin McGee
were absent.
Others attending the meeting were City Administrator Marshall Shelton, City
Secretary Joyce Pemberton and Mr. Dean Cox, chairman of the City Zoning Board.
Mayor Jones called the meeting to order and advised the Council that the pur-
pose of this meeting was to consider the recommendations of the City Zoning Board.
Mr. Dean Cox advised the Council that the City Zoning Board recommended to
the City Council that Warner Cable TV be granted a zoning variance on the property
located on Lillian Street, across from Gulf States Telephone Company for the purpose
of constructing an office building. Mr. Cox also reported that Mr. Till Stone, con -.
tractor, had contacted the property owners within a 200' radius of said property and
there were no objections to this construction.
After some discussion, Councilman Irwin made the motion to approve the re-
commendations'of the City Zoning Board to grant a zoning variance on part of Lots 4A
and 4B, Block 30, Tarleton Heights Addition, City of Stephenville, Texas, for the
purpose of constructing an office building for Warner Cable TV Company, Councilman
Hammett made the second. Motion carried unanimously.
Mayor Jones close the public meeting and announced that the Council would
hold an executive session for the purpose of discussing personnel.
Mayor Jones announced that the Council was back in open session and that at
the next Regular Meeting they would adopt a policy regarding a citizen filing a com-
plaint against a city employee.
There being no further business, the meeting adjourned at 4;30 P.M.
