CHAMBER OF THE CITY COUNCIL CITY HALL, STEPHENVILLE, TEXAS The City Council of the City of Stephenville, Texas, met in Special Session Friday, September 21, 1979 at 4:30 p.m. with Mayor Donald R. Jones present and presiding. Councilmembers Calvin A. McGee, Charles Riggins, Larry Hammett, and Linda Chew were present. Councilmembers Mike Leese, W. M. Irwin, Raymond Anderson, and E. W. Ferguson were absent. Others attending the meeting were City Administrator Marshall Shelton, Administrative Assistant Kurt Ackermann, Building Inspector Hardy Lockhart, Mr. Don Coan, Mr. Gerald Cook, Mr. David Cheatham, and Mr. Craig Shaffer. Mayor Jones called the meeting to order. ITEM I: PUBLIC HEARING TO CONSIDER REZONING OF LOTS 28, 29, and 30 -B, BLOCK 134, CITY ADDITION, FROM R -2 TO B -10 Mayor Jones stated that this meeting had been called for the purpose of a public hearing on the above zoning change request. Mayor Jones called for any person wishing to object to the zoning request to.address the Council. There being no objections to the request, the Mayor asked for persons wishing to speak in favor of the zoning change request to address the Council. Mr. Don Coan appeared before the Council and presented a plat of the property identified in the zoning change request. Mr. Coan briefly discussed the property's location and the current zoning of surrounding properties. He stated that the property would be developed into a neighborhood shopping area. Being no further discussion, Councilman Charles Riggins moved, seconded by Councilman Calvin McGee, that Lots 28, 29 and 30 -B, Block 134, City Addition, be rezoned from R -2 to B -1. Motion carried unanimously by those members present. ITEM II: PUBLIC HEARING SET FOR WEDNESDAY, OCTOER 10, 1979 AT 4 O'CLOCK P.M FOR REZONING OF LOTS 8 and 9, BLOCK 156, CITY ADDITION, FROM R -1, Mayor Jones reviewed the recommendations of the Zoning Board regarding the rezoning of the above mentioned property stating that the Chamber of Commerce had requested a public hearing at the earliest possible date. Councilman McGee moved, seconded by Councilman Riggins, that Wednesday, October 10, 1979 at 4 o'clock p.m. in the Council Chambers, be set as the time, place, and date for a public hearing to consider rezoning from R -1, R -2 and B -2 to INDUSTRIAL, all of Lots 8 and 9, Block 156, City Addition. Motion carried unanimously by those members present. There being no other business to come before the Council, the meeting adjourned at 4:36 p.m. ST:
