The City Council of the City of Stephenville, Texas, met in Special Session Wednesday, October 22`, 1980 at 3 :00 p.m. with Mayor Joe F. Cummings present and presiding. COUNCILMEMBERS PRESENT: Mike Leese Raymond Anderson William G. Brede E. W. Ferguson Charles`Riggins Larry Hammett David Clayton COUNCILMEMBERS ABSENT: W. M. IRWIN OTHERS ATTENDING: City Administrator Kurt Ackermann City Secretary Joyce Pemberton Director of Public Works R. Y. Gann Director of Utilities Danny Johnson Conrad Callicoatte Mayor Cummings called the meeting to order and declared a quorum present. ITEM I: DISCUSS BIDS FOR WATER SUPPLY WELL AND WELL PUMP. The following bids were received for 1 water supply well and well pump: Bidder Water Supply Well Well Pump Layne Texas Co. $ 76,889.00 $23,526.00 Layne- Western Co' J. L. Myers D.M.Pump Service $110,000.00 $ 73,540.00 No Bid $24,820.00 $23,612.00 $21,780.00 Conrad Callicoatte came before the Council to discuss the bids. He said these bids were 28.9% higher than the bids for the wells in 1976 and the pump bids were 39% higher. Mr. Callicoatte said he thought all the bids were good bids, but he would recommend the low bid submitted by J. L. Myers for the water well and the low bid sub- mitted by D.M. Pump Service for the well pump. After discussion, Councilman Anderson moved, seconded by Council- man Ferguson, to accept the low bid submitted by J. L. Myers for the amount of $73,540.00 for drilling one water supply well and the low bid submitted by D.M. Pump Service for the amount of $21,780.00 for the well pump as recommended by Mr. Callicoatte. Motion carried unanimously by those members present. Mayor Cummings announced that the November regular council meeting would be postponed until November 11th because of the general election being on November 4th.
