SPECIAL SESSION - TUESDAY
JUNE 16, 1981 - 3:00 P.M.
CHAMBER OF THE CITY COUNCIL
CITY HALL, STEPHENVILLE, TEXAS
The City Council of the City of Stephenville, Texas, met in special
session Tuesday, June 16, 1981, at 3:00 p.m. with Mayor Joe F. Cummings
present and presiding.

Mayor Cummings called the meeting to order and declared a quorum
present.
ITEM I: CONSIDER
OF EPA GRANT OFFER FOR STEP II
Mr. Conrad Callicoatte explained that this is a grant offer from EPA
which is the Step II grant for the design and construction plans for the
South Sewer Outfall Line. When Step II is complete, the city will apply
for a Step III grant for the actual construction. Mr. Callicoatte ad-
vised that Step II should be completed as soon as possible and apply for
Step III while the money is still available. The dollar amount for Step
II is $46,000, 75% to be refunded by the EPA.
Mr. Callicoatte said what is needed today is for the Council to
authorize the Mayor to sign the necessary papers for acceptance of this
grant.
After some discussion, Councilman Hammett moved, seconded by Council-
man Ferguson, that the City Council authorize the Mayor to sign all
necessary papers for the acceptance of the Step II grant from EPA for
the South Sewer Outfall Line Project. The motion carried unanimously.
ITEM II: HEAR REPORT FROM CONSULTING ENGINEERS ON PALUXY RIVER
WATER PROJECT.
Mr. Conrad Callicoatte and Mr. Rea Stevenson discussed in detail the
"Preliminary Report To The City of Stephenville On Proposed Paluxy River
Area Water Supply System as prepared by Graham Associates, Inc. (a copy
of said report is on file in the City Secretary's office.)
After discussion, Mayor Cummings, with the consent of the Council,
directed that the officials of Granbury and Glen Rose be contacted to
set up a meeting to go over this same presentation. See if they would
be interested in joining Stephenville in making application to the Water_
Rights Commission to obtain the water rights along the Paluxy River for
a reservoir.

MCUTSVB SESSION: Mayor Cummings adjourned the open session at
4:10 p.m. and called the Council into executive session as provided in
the Open Meetings Act, Article 6252-17, Vesrn6n1'is Texas Civil Statutes,
Section 2 (e), for thepurposeof discussing pending or contemplated
litigation regarding the design of 3 city water wells along Highway 67.
The Mayor and Council reconvened in open session at 5:00 p.m.
With there being no action to be taken and no further discussion,
Mayor Cummings adjourned the meeting at 5:00 p.m.
