HomeMy WebLinkAbout2017-04-11 - BOA Meeting Minutes MINUTES OF THE BOARD OF ADJUSTMENT COMMISSION OF THE CITY OF STEPHENVILLE, TEXAS HELD ON, Tuesday, April 11, 2017- 4:00PM The regular meeting of the Board of Adjustment of the City of Stephenville was called to order by Chairperson Moumin Quazi at 4:00pm with the following members present: Chairperson: Moumin Quazi Members: David Baskett Vic Cogburn Stephen McKethan Also attending was Jeremy Allen, Interim of Director of Planning and Building Services, Shyra King, Board of Adjustment Secretary, Allen Barns, City Administer and members of the community. ITEM I: CONSIDER FOR APPROVAL MINUTES OF THE JANUARY 12, 2017 MEETING. Board member David Baskett made the motion to approve the minutes of the January 12, 2017 meeting. Board member Vic Cogburn seconded the motion. The motion carried by the following vote: AYES: All members present voted aye. NOES: none. ITEM II: Public Hearing Case No.: V2017001: Applicant(s), Misty Marple, and Brent Moser, are district, in order to construct a patio cover to within 19 ft. of the rear property line at the residence located at 1022 Elk Ridge Drive, being Lot 20, Block 4, of the Elk Ridge Estates Addition to the City of Stephenville, Erath County, Texas. Jeremy Allen, Interim Director of Planning and Building Services, addressed the Commission explaining, Ms. Misty Marple request, for a reduction in the minimum rear-yard setback from twenty-five o nineteen (19 Mr. Allen submitted material that provided information for the purpose of the request. Staff recommendation was approval for the Variance Request. Chairperson Moumin Quazi opened the public hearing. THOSE IN FAVOR OF THE VARIANCE REQUEST: Ms. Misty Marple, spoke on behalf of approving said Various and answered any question(s) presented. THOSE NOT IN FAVOR OF THE VARIOUS REQUEST: No persons spoke on behalf of not approving said Variance. Chairperson Moumin Quazi closed the public hearing. Commissioner David Baskett made a motion to approve the variance as presented in BOA Variance Case No.: V2017001 Commissioner Vic Cogburn seconded the motion. The motion carried by the following vote. AYES: Four members present voted aye. NOES: None ITEM lll: Public Hearing Case No.: V2017002: Applicant(s), Isidro Vargas, and Jose Vargas, are zoning district, in order to construct a carport up to the side property line at the residence located at 183 Bryan, being Lot 11, Block 1 of the College Hill Addition to the City of Stephenville, Erath County, Texas. Jeremy Allen, Interim Director of Planning and Building Services, addressed the Commission explaining Mr. Vargas, and Jose Vargas request of a reduction in the minimum side-yard setback from . Mr. Allen submitted material that provided information for the purpose of the request. Staff recommendation was approval for the Variance Request. Chairperson Moumin Quazi opened the public hearing. THOSE NOT IN FAVOR OF THE VARIOUS REQUEST: No persons spoke on behalf of not approving said variance. Chairperson Moumin Quazi closed the public hearing. Commissioner Vic Cogburn made a motion to approve the variance as presented in BOA Variance Case No.: V2017002 Commissioner David Baskett seconded the motion. The motion carried by the following vote. AYES: Four members present voted aye. NOES: None There being no other business to come before the Commission the meeting adjourned at 4:09 P.M.
