April 6, 1943.
The City Council of the City of Stephenville, Texas, met in i'
regular session on the above date, with Mayor J. W. Clements.. and'
the following aldermen present: Dan Lane, T. R. Moore, Leonard
Fenner, Fred McCleskey, Bras Cole, C. A. McDonald, C. E. Martin
,and Reecie Jones.
Mayor Clements being late, the Council was called to order
by Fred McCleskey, Mayor Pro-Tem. Minutes of previous meeting
were read and approved.
Bill Locks.art came before the Council stating that Mack
Creswell and Y. F. Reed's drive-in curb lines were very low and
when it rained the water from the street care over and would
stand under his and several other neighbor houses. '.fter dis-
cussion, it was moved by C. A. bIoDonald, seconded by Bras Cole, :
that Percy Anderson contact the property owners and make such
repair needed, in order to correct the drainage. Notion carried.',
City Election returns of April 6, 1943, were canvassed, and
on motion by C. E. Martin, seconded by Leonard Fenner, that the
following aldermen were duly elected: Two year terms, 6aard # 11
S. E. Richardson; VYard # 2, T. R. Moorc; Ward # 3, Dan Lane, Ward
4, C. A. McDonald; the unexpired terrn of one year in Vand 4,
T. G. Funk. Each of the above candidates received thirty-two
votes. Motion carried.
It wa.s moved by Reecie Jones, seconded by Bras Cole, that
the 1929 taxes of T. A. Perry value be reduced so that the tax,
penalty, interest and cost, equal the original amount of $)40.31.
Motion carried.
Mayor J. Si. Clements now entering the chair.
Bills and accounts were read and on motion by C. A. McDonald,
seconded by Leonard Fenner, were allowed and ordered paid.

There being no other business at this time, the Council
stood adjourned in an adjourned regular meeting, subject to the
Mayorts call.

The City Council of the City of Stephenville, Texas, met in
an adjourned regular meeting on the above date, with Mayor J. W.
Clements and the following aldermen present: Dan Lane, Reecie
Jones, S. E. Richardson, C. A. McDonald, T. R. Moore, C. E. Mart.
and Bras Cole.
The Mayor stated the purpose of the meeting was to announce
the various committees and to elect a Mayor Pro-Tem.
It was moved by Bras Cole, seconded by Dan Lane, that C. A.
'McDonald be elected TIayor Pro-Tem. Motion carried.
it %^as moved by C. A. McDonald, seconded by Reecie Jones, that
,the Mayor be alloyed authority to appoint two aldermen to work
with the Chamber of Commerce Committee in securing information fox!
.a municipal airport. Motion carried.
It vvas moved by T. R. Moore, seconded by C. E. Martin, that
Bob Fea.gants salary be raised to �:35.00 per month, effective April
1, 1943. Motion carried.
There being no other business at this time, the Council stood'
adjourned in an adjourned regular meeting subject to the mayor's
call.
