March 2, 1943.
The City Council of the City of Stephenville met in regular
session on the above date with Mayor J. W. Clements presiding, an
the f ollo•.airg aldermen present: Dan Lane, Reecie Jones, T. R.
Moore, C. E. tuiartin, Fred YcCleskey, Leonard Fenner and C. A.
McDonald.
Minutes of previous meeting were read and approved.
It was moved by T. R. Iuioore, seconded by Fred YcCleskey, tha
J, p. Anderson's salary be raised to 4475.00 per month, effective
as of January 1, 1943. Motion carried.
It was moved by Dan Lane, seconded by T. R. Moore, that the
following salaries be raised:
L. A. Cox raised to 827.50 per week.
yJ. C. Butler ° " O24.75
These salaries effective week beginning March 1, 1943,
It was moved by Fred McCleskey, seconded by Reecie Jones,
that a city election be ordered for the purpose of electing an
alderman in each of the four wards, and a special election in
1iard No. 4--being Leonard Fenner's unexpired term of one year,
and that Mack Creswell be appointed election judge. The motion
was carried.
It was moved by C. A. McDonald, seconded by Fred McCleskey,f
that a 4,000 gallon minimum of water be allowed instead of 3,000,1
and upon request to domestic, or residental consumers only, for
the months starting with March reading and continuing through
September, who use water for irrigation for trees, shrubs, flowery;
and grass, 20,000 gallons of water for $3.50, plus �.50 sewer
charge. For each 1,000 gallons above the 20,000 minimum used,at
.the regular rate of �.25 and the City will furnish without charger
an additional 1,000 gallons of water. Customers using this rate,!;
'will, in the event of shortage of water supply, be immediately
olaeed upon the regular rate upon notice from the water department.

It was moved by T. R. Moore, seconded by C. A. McDonald, thati
:the City pay Chas. Logan, the new Band Teacher, $�75.00 per month,,
effective February 81 1943. Motion carried.
It was moved by Fred kcCleskey, seconded by C. A. McDonald,
that the American Legion Hall be assessed for the year 1943 at
'a $50,00 value for City Tax purposes. Motion carried.
It was moved by Reecie Jones, seconded by Dan Lane, that Mrs.i
A. C. Martin be placed on charity water list. Motion carried.

It was moved by C. A. McDonald, seconded by Reecie Jones,
that Mrs. Jno. `yright be removed from the free water list, ef- !
fective on the March bill, and that Mrs, Jess Rodman ('Mayne Hodmanils
monther) be allowed free water until further notice. 1-lotion carried.
It was moved by Fred IrlcCleskey, seconded by Leonard Fenner,
Sthat Dan Lane be allowed the insurance on the 1942 Ford Fire Truck';,
which expires i.'arch 130 1943. Motion carried.
Bills and accounts were read, and on motion by C. A. LcDonald',
seconded by Leonard Fenner, were allowed and ordered paid.
There being no other business at this time, the Council stoe
adjourned in an adjourned regular meeting, subject to the Iv?ayorts
"call.
