January 5, 1943.
The City Council of Stephenville, Texas, met in regular meet,
ing on January 5, 1943, with Mayor J. W. Clements presiding and
the following Aldermen present: Dan Lane, T. R. Moore, C. E. Martin,
Fred McCloskey, Bras Cole, Reecie Jones, Leonard Fenner and C. A.
McDonald.
Minutes of previous meeting read and approved.
It was moved by Fred McCleskey, seconded by Bras Cole, that
the City Secretary be authorized to withhold the 5,% Victory Tax +!
from all wages or salaries as set out by the Federal Government 14
Section 466 - (C) (1). effective January 1, 1943. Motion carried,
It was moved by Fred McCleskey, seconded by T. R. Moore, that
the City gravel the part of Shirley Street between 011ie and
Clinton Streets, north of the High School. Motion carried.
It was moved by Fred McCleskey, seconded by C. E. Martin, th
Mr. W. F. Turner's audit report from September 1, 1941, to August
310 194:6, be accepted and approved, and the fee of $125.00 be pai
Motion carried.
Bills and accounts were read and on motion by C. A.
seconded by T. R. Moore, were allowed and ordered paid.
There being no other business at this date, the Council stool
adjourned in an adjourned regular meeting, subject to the Mayor's
call.
