The City Council of Stephenville, Texas, met in regular ses-;I
sion on September 3, 1940, with Mayor J. W. Clements presiding, and
the following aldermen present: Chas. Neblett Jr., H. D. Barham,il,
Fred McCleskey, T. T. Oliver, L. Riggins and Jack Henderson.
Minutes of previous meeting were read and approved.
Mr. H. E. Braeuer and others came before the Council present-',
,ing a petition signed by 700 residents of the City asking the City
Council to erect a Water Softner. No action was taken in regard
to this matter at the present time.

The request of the heirs of D. G. Powell that the City deed i
to D. G. Powell heirs Lot 1, Block 4, College Hill Addition of
Stephenville (Tax Deed now held by the City came up for discussion.
A motion was made by Fred McCleskey, seconded by L. Riggins, that''
the City Council pass resolution authorizing the Mayor to deed the';
D. G. Powell heirs the lot as above described. The motion was
carried. (Resolution attached to these minutes and being a part
thereof).
The bid of A. C. Daniel to move the airport hangar and office
to the new airport was referred to the Aeronautics Committee.

Bills�,and accounts were read and on motion by Fred McCleskey,.';
seconded by L. RiggAas, were allowed and ordered paid.
There being no further business, the Council stood adjourned'!
in an adjourned regular meeting subject to the Mayor's call.
