April 9, 1940.
The City Council met in an adjourned regular meeting on April',,
®, 1940, with Mayor J. W. Clements and the following Aldermen
present: L. Riggins, Chas. Neblett Jr., Jack Henderson, T. T.
Oliver, Doyle White, K. D. Hamilton, Fred McCleskey and H. D. Barhim.
Mayor Clements stated that the meeting was to hear Mr. Freeze,
In regard to information on Water Softening for the City, also
any other business that the Council wished to consider.
After hearing Mr. Freeze, the Council stood adjourned in an
adjourned regular meeting, subject to the call of the Mayor.

The City Council of Stephenville met in an adjourned regular ,
meeting on the above date. Mayor J. W. Clements and the followin&!
aldermen were present: K. D. Hamilton, H. D. Barham, Chas. Neblett
Jr., Jack Henderson, T. T. Oliver, Fred McCloskey, L. Riggina and
poyle White.
The meeting was to hear Mr. Johnson in regard to cost of W.P.'
A. Street Paving Project to be paid by the City. Mr. Johnson re-
ported cost to be approximately $21,000 for penitration asphalt
and $24,000 for rook asphalt.
Mr. Sansing reported that Hale Street and Lillian Avenue had
been signed up in full for paving.
Mr. Goodman appeared before the Council in regard to sale of
street maintainer.
A motion was made by Chas. Neblett Jr., seconded by T. T. Oliver
that W. P. A. Street Paving Project be extended. Motion carried.
A motion was made by T. T. Oliver, seconded by Jack Henderson�,
' that Chas. Neblett Jr. notify Government Agency that City would
furnish office space. Motion carried.
There being no further business, the Council stood adjourned !j

Barham.
Mayor Clements stated that the object of the meeting was to j
consider the purchase of a street maintainer.
Mr. Clyde Smith came before the Council representing the R.
B. George Machinery Co. Mr. Goodman appeared representing the
;Benson -Shea Machinery Co.
A motion was made by Jack Henderson, seconded by K. D. Hamil.I
ton, that the City trade with Mr. Smith on No. 112 Tractor at
$4750.00. Motion carried.
The Council then stood adjourned.
