March 5, 1940.
The City Council of the City of Stephenville met in regular
session off March 5, 1940, with Mayor Henry Clark presiding and
the following aldermen present: Jack Henderson, Fred McCleskey,
Chas. Neblett Jr., K. D. Hamilton, T. T. Oliver, L. Riggins and
H. D. Barham.
Minutes of previous meetings were read and approved.
Messrs. Homer Nix and Henry Sims came before the Council
asking that the City pass an ordinance requiring all plumbers to ?
pay plumbers license. This request was referred to the Ordinance:
Committee.

Yr. R. Y. Anderson appeared before the Council asking that
the City construct a storm sewer across Block No. 25, College
Heights Addition. This request was referred to the Street Com-
mittee.
A motion was made by K. D. Hamilton, seconded by Jack Hender
son, that the Council pass resolution substituting Grandbury
Independent School District Bonds to the amount of $2000.00 for
the ;0 000.00 Nueces County Navigation District Bond now pledged
by the Stephenville State Bank as security on Depository Bond.
The motion was carried.
Mr. Freeze was introduced to the Council by Chas. Neblett Jr
and gave the Council information in regard to a Water Softner.
A motion was made by K. D. Hamilton, seconded by Jack Hender-
son, that bonds of the Stephenville State Bank, pledged to the
City as security for depository, be placed in care of the Farmers:!
First National Bank of Stephenville. Motion carried.
On motion by K. D. Hamilton, seconded by Fred McCleskey, they
plumbers bonds of H. J. Rhoades, N. H. Anderson, Homer Nix, E. M.'„
McAlister and F. H. Gaines were accepted and approved.
A request for a Fire Hydrant in the Cage Addition was referred
to the Itiater Committee.
Bills and accounts were read and on motion by Fred Mccleskeyo,
seconded by T. T. Oliver, were allowed and ordered paid.
There being no further business at this time, the Council
stood adjourned in an adjourned regular meeting, subject to the
Mayor's call.
