November 7, 1939.
The City Council of Stephenville, Texas, met in regular
session on November 7, 1939, with Mayor Henry Clark and the folloer-
ing Aldermen present: Jack Henderson, Fred McCleskey, K. D.
Hamilton „ T. T. Oliver, H. D. Barham and L. Riggins.
Business was called for by the Mayor. The Water Committee
reported that C. L. White was financially unable to pay water
bills, so a motion was made by K. D. Hamilton, seconded by L.
Riggins, that Mr. White be placed on the charity list and free
water be furnished by the City. Motion carried.
A bill of Mr. E. H. R. Helland for engineer services to the
amount of $573.04 was read, after which a motion was made by L.
Riggins, seconded by H. D. Barham, that the bill be approved and
paid. Motion carried.
A letter from Mr. Hal Walker, Mayor of Breckenridge, was
read. A motion was made by L. Higgins, seconded by Fred McCleskey,
that Mr. Walker be allowed to contact gas users of the City to
see what per cent would sign for .60¢ gas rate. The motion was
carried.
Motion was made by Fred McCleskey, seconded by K. D. Hamilton,
that balances in Water Warrant Funds of 1924 and 1930 be transferee
to Road and Bridge Fund. Motion carried.
Motion was made by lack Henderson, seconded by L. Riggins,
that Frank Henson be allowed $5.00 worth of gasoline per month
without charge and Oran McMains be allowed $10.00 worth per month
without charge. Motion was carried.
Bills and accounts wereoread and on motion by K. D. Hamilton,)
seconded by T. T. Oliver, were allowed and ordered paid.
There being no other business, the Council stood adjourned
in an adjourned regular meeting, subject to the Mayor's call.
