An adjourned regular meeting of the City Council was held on
May 6, 1939, with Mayor Clark and the following aldermen present:
L. Riggins, H. D. Barham, K. D. Hamilton, T. T. Oliver, Fred Me-
Cleskey, Chas. Neblett Jr., and Jack Henderson.
Mr. J. W. McCutcheon came before the Council with an Ordinance
of the State Highway Department asking that said Ordinance be
passed. A motion was made by T. D. Hamilton, seconded by T. T.
Oliver, that this Ordinance be passed,as of page 128, with authority
of the Mayor and City Secretary to execute same. Motion carried..'.
There being no further business, the Council adjourned in an''
adjourned regular meeting subject to the call of the Mayor.

An adjourned regular meeting of the City Council was held on;!
the 15th of May, 1939. Mayor Henry Clark and the following alder
men were present: H. D. Barham, L. Riggins, K. D. Hamilton, Jack;
Henderson, T. T. Oliver, Geo. Minter, Chas. Neblett Jr., and Fred P.
&IcCleskey.
After viewing a map, as presented by Chamber of Commerce
members, motion was Trade by L. Riggins, seconded by T. T. Oliver,:;
that the Mayor appoint members of the Chamber of Commerce as' -
Zoning Commission as follows: C. W. Bryant, Hal C. Doremus, J. W.-'
Clements, Ben B. McCollum, Don Ying, A. M. Leigon, Chas. Neblett
Sr., snd A. H. Demke, which Zoning Commission shall recommend the
boundaries of the various original zoning districts and appropriate
regulations to be enforced therein, and such commission shall make!
a preliminary report to the City Council and hold public hearings
thereon before submitting its final report to the City Council.
The motion was carried.
Clinton C. Cox came before the Council asking for use of the"
entire City Park on July 4th, 1939, for the Junior Chamber of
Commerce. Motion was made by Fred McCleskey, seconded by Chas.
Neblett Jr., that the Junior Chamber of Commerce be granted the
1 use of the park on this date, also use of the Junior Ball Room in
the Recreation Hall twice per month for Junior Chamber of Commerce,
r meetings, charged for use of Park as stated to be 10% of gross
receipts plus one half of net profits. Motion carried.
There being no other business at this time, the Council
