The City Council of Stephenville, Texas, met in regular see-
�ion on the 5th of April, 1938, with the following members presentiE
ayor Henry Clark, Aldermen J. C. Holcomb, C. L. Cromwell, K. V.
Hamilton, Geo. Minter, R. B. Bassel, and T. T. Oliver.

Minutes of last meeting were read and approved.
Mr. Oneal cambe before the Council asking for Oil Lease Con-
tract on the City Dump Ground. After discussion, a motion was mad
by J. C. Holcomb, seconded by C. L. Cromwell, that the City lease
ito C. B. Collard the City Dump Ground, an being 52 acres of the '!
IJobn Blair survey, and also pass a resolution authorizing Mayor
Mark to execute a lease as above stated. Motion carried.
C. G. Carter and others cambebefore the Council asking for
ooperation in securing gas extentions to Belmont Addition. The
isatter was referred to Mayor Clark to take up with the Gas Co.
The painting of the Water Tank and Tower was taken up
deration and after discussion, a motion was made by R.
1, seconded by K. D. Hamilton, that all parties submit
inting to the Water Committee. Motion carried.

The resignation of Alderman J. O. Blakeney was read after

{that Mr. Blakeneyte resignation be accepted. Motion carried.
�j Returns of the City Election were opened and canvassed, as
Follows: For Mayor: Arch Evans 166 votes; Henry Clark 434 votes;
A. H. Demke 323 votes. For Alderman Ward No. 1: George Minter
!9914 votes. For Alderman Ward No. 2: J. C. Holcomb 909 votes. For;i
Alderman Ward No. 3: Chas. Neblett Jr. 502 votes* C. L. Cromwell
403 votes. For Alderman Ward No. 4 (2 year term$: Tack Henderson
V12 votes. For Alderman warq1 No. 4 (1 year term): H. D. Barham
491 votes; J. P. Hedrick 400 votes.
The following were then declared duly elected: Mayor, Henry
ark. For Alderman Ward No. 1: George Minter. For Alderman Ward
. 2: J. C. Holcomb. For Alderman Ward No. 3: Chas. Neblett Jr.
r Alderman Ward No. 4 (2 Year term): Jack Henderson. For Alder
n Ward No. 4 (1 year term): H. D. Barham.
Plumbers Bond of Homer Nix was presented for appro*il, and
n by Geo. Minter, seconded by K. D. Hamilton, the bond was
ted and approved.
Mr. C. L. Hickey stated to the Council that N.,P. Dodge Corp.
d to donate lots Nos. 8, 17, 26, 38, 47, and 57, 66 the Bel -
Addition to the City for Street purpose, provided the City
cancel all past due City Taxes on these lots. Motion was

made by R. Be Bassel,seconded by J. C. Holcomb, that the dity
Council accept proposition as stated by Mr. Hiokey. The motion
carried.
N. H. Anderson stated that the City Water Department needed
600 feet of 6 inch water main to complete water lines on West
Frey and West Washington streets. Motion was made by C. L. Crom-
well, seconded by R. Be Bassel, that Mr. Anderson purchase this
pipe. Motion carried.
A motion was made by R. Be Bassel, seconded by J. C. Holcomb,''i
that Mr. Anderson order propellars for the Pomona Pump. Motion
carried.
Bills and accounts were read, and on motion by R. Be Bassel,
seconded by J. C. Holcomb, were allowed and ordered pail.

There being no further business, the Council stood adjourned
in an adjourned regular meeting, subject to the Mayor's call.

The City Council not in an adjourned regular meeting on the
above date. Present: Mayor Henry Clark, J. C. Holcomb, C,. L. Crow:!•
well, Goo. Minter, T. T. Oliver, and K. D. Hamilton.
The Mayor stated that the purpose of the meetint was to award'I
a paint contract on the water tower and tank.
After all bids were read, a motion was made by C. L. Cromwelly
seconded by K. D. Hamilton, that the Council order tower and tank
to be painted and contract be awarded to Clyde Sanders, of Abilene,
Texas, at a price of $325.00 for complete job. Motion carried.
There being no more business, the Council stood adjourned in
an adjourned regular meeting, subject to the Mayor's call.
