March 1, 1938.
The City Council of Stephenville. Texas, met in regular
session on March 1, 1938, with the following members present:
Mayor Henry Clark, Aldermen T. T. Oliver, R. B. Bassel, C. L.
Cromwell,•K. D. Hamilton, Geo. Minter. J. C. Holcomb, and City
Attorney E. T. Chandler.
Minutes of last meeting were read and approved. Business was
called for by the Mayor.
Notion was made by K. D. Hamilton, seconded by T. T. Oliver,,'
that a City Election be held on April 5, 1938, for the purpose of,i
electing a Mayor and Aldermen in Wards Nos. 1,29 3, and 4. MotiO
carried.
Motion was made by Geo. Minter, seconded by J. C. Holcomb,
that a resolution be passed authorizing Mayor Clark (In behalf of',!
the City of Stephenville) to make and execute a deed to the State':
Highway Department for right-of-way for highway over and along th4
John Blair Survey, same being known as City Dump Grounds. Motion'i
carried. (Resolution attached). /°aye 7 S
Motion was made by C. L. Cromwell, seconded by R. B. Bassel,'
that the City Council authorize the City Health officer to issue
permits to Dairyman when such dairymen comply with all State re.
quirements as to grade A milk. Motion carried.
J. W. Clements and Wiley B. Thompson came before the Council!!
asking that the City Council donate 025.00 per month to pay sten-',',
ographer on reldif work, After discussion of the matter, the
following committee was appointed to look into the matter and seel'I
what could be done. Committee appointed: R. B. Bassel, J. C.
Holcomb, and Geo. Minter.
Bills and accounts were read and on motion by R. B. Bassel,
seconded by Geo. Minter, were allowed and ordered paid.
