February 2, 1937.
The City Council of the City of Stephenville, Texas, met in
regular session on the above date, with Mayor Henry Clark, and
the following Aldermen present: T. T. Oliver, K. D. Hamilton, y
C. L. Cromwell, J. 0. Blakeney, George Minter, J. C. Holcomb,
H. C. Martin, and R. B. Bassel.
Minutes of former meeting were read and approved.
The Plumber bonds of E. M. McAlister and Homer Nix were pre-
sented for approval. A motion was made by George Minter, seconds
by K. D. Hamilton, that said bonds be accepted and approved.
Motion carried.
The matter of improvements on a water ditch adjoining Mr. M.
Ishmael's property was referred to the Sanitary Committee.
A 16tter from J. Thos. Davis asking for a water tower to be
placed on the College Campus, also, for street improvements, was
read. After discussion, the letter was tabled until some future
:date.
The request of Mr. Hooker, for aid to be furnished by the
City in the Relief Office, was stated. A motion was made by R. B.
;Passel, seconded by H. C. Martin, that the Mayor appoint a com-
mittee to investigage the need of such help. Motion carried. The
committee appointed being J. 0. Blakeney, K. D. Hamilton, and Dr.
C. L. Cromwell.
Bills and accounts were read and on motion by J. 0. Blakeney
seconded by J. C. Holcomb, were allowed and ordered paid. There
being no further business, the Council stood adjourned, in an
adjourned regular meeting, subject to the call of the Mayor.
